“I’ve been coming to this location pretty much every weekend for the last 3 years and realized I’ve never actually left a review! They have another location that is bigger than this one, but honestly, this one is the better spot for food, service, and the overall vibe. I actually live closer to the Falls Church location but still make the drive here because the staff are always super friendly and the experience is consistently good. On Fridays and Saturday, it can get a little busy a hectic but the wait usually isn’t too bad, maybe around like 10–15 minutes. My order has always come out right and the food tastes fresh and delicious every time I’ve been here.

The place itself is clean, condiments are always stocked, and there’s a really nice mural on the wall that gives it a cozy feel. Nice music playing most of the time I come and seating is a little tight but it’s comfortable. Every time I come in,I’m greeted right away and the staff have been the same since I first started coming so they know what they’re doing. If there ever is an issue, they’re quick to fix it. If you have any allergies or food restrictions, they are pretty accommodating to requests so that is something to consider.
Overall, this has been one of my go-to spots for Greek food for years! Consistently good food, good prices, and really great service.“

With my aunt having difficulty getting around, it’s nice to have a place that’s mainly flat so she doesn’t have to do stairs. They’re always accommodating, and it’s a warm and welcoming atmosphere. “In recent years there seems to be a proliferation of small-plate Mediterranean restaurants. But Yayla remains as one of the best, reasonably priced originals in northern Virginia. There is a pleasing range of mezzes, salads, entrees hot and cold, flat breads, spreads, etc . I had a Yayla mule, 3 spreads, lemony rice soup and superb shrimp. Friends chose a range of other dishes. I can guarantee whatever you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Everything is flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented. Shelly the server was the nicest, she spoke in a very polite manner & at the end of my meal, she asked how I liked it - my response was the food tastes excellent! “This Greek restaurant in Potomac, MD is a hidden gem. The lobster spaghetti was rich and perfectly balanced, and the dessert—simple, elegant, unforgettable. The menu is carefully curated, and it shows. This is their second restaurant—the first has been around for over 30 years. They know what they’re doing. Small space, so definitely make a reservation—but bar seating is just as good (we sat there and loved it). Carlos the bartender and the whole staff were amazing. We were the only Black/brown folks there, and felt completely welcomed. Don’t miss this spot—real food, real hospitality, real experience.“

“The gentleman at the counter had wonderful customer service. We paid for our food even brought it to the table, which was very nice. It felt like fine dining, he gave us a bit of conversation and seem like such a pleasant gentlemen. I enjoyed the food. It was amazing. I eat every drop and the baklava ice cream with everything took a friend for the first time. My friend said he enjoyed it, and we will definitely be back again. “Hidden gem of a shop, literally as you have to navigate through an office building to get there. The presumably owner was wonderful and very helpful, he also emphasized his use of extra virgin olive oil for health. I don’t think the Chicken Msakhen I got was on the online menu, but so so tasty.

More of a takeout shop than a date night vibe, but it does have free WiFi! Please consider giving them your business, it’s so worth it“

“This is the kind of place that you go to as a single person trying to get a quality meal without breaking the bank- you then take take someone there for a brunch date- further down the line you make it a regular place for you two. Flash forward you now have a family and introduce the kids to and they also love it. My point is this is the kind of place you will always go to and at every point in your life it will be there for you. I went with my girlfriend and now she's my wife and we still love it. When my Grandmother had severe dementia and didnt enjoy much she still loved going here and the staff and atmosphere gave her the feeling of being somewhere familiar and welcoming. New places opening up wont be like this which is why its so important to keep supporting City Diner- lets not make this a place that we only appreciate once its gone- its a place beyond the food- its a true family restaurant that has been there through multiple generations of my family.“

“I’ve passed this place a million times and never paid attention until now. Fantastic Peruvian chicken experience: the 1/2 white meat chicken, yucca fries, and plantains were all so flavorful. My sister ordered the chicken saltados over yucca friends (instead of regular fries—pro move IMO) which was flavorful and good.

The staff is friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is clean. I won’t be sleeping on this place anymore. Can’t wait to come back!“
