His thoughtful recommendations, warm demeanor, and perfectly timed attentiveness made for an unforgettable evening. As fans of Persian cuisine and frequent shoppers at Yekta Market in Rockville— having recently tried our hand at making Persian dishes like Fesenjan at home— coupled with all of the culinary accolades— we had high expectations for JOON. It not only met but exceeded them. Mast-o Musir, yogurt dish with Persian dried shallot and rose petal, was exceptional— more elevated and nuanced than any we’ve had. The mushroom Khoresht stew with white truffle was another highlight, offering perfectly balanced flavors something hard to do with white truffles and a satisfying richness, complemented by the perfectly crunchy Tahdig, iconic golden rice crust. The braised lamb shoulder which Yacine suggested was the undeniable highlight of the meal I which each dish was excellent. Tender and flavorful, it was paired beautifully with texture. It’s a signature dish that rivals the best we’ve ever had, bringing to mind the legendary Bo Ssam pork shoulder from David Chang’s Momofuku— bold, unforgettable, and expertly prepared. The Gormeh Sabzi, short rib stew with its delicious sour depth, was excellent but couldn’t quite match the lamb’s showstopping brilliance. Two very minor points. While the food and service are exceptional, the main dining room lighting would benefit from dimming. A water filtration water system could make a big difference as well. JOON has firmly secured its place as a must-visit dining destination for us. We can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu.“

“HIGHLY recommend booking your private event at Meows Corner!! My whole party was welcomed and made to feel at home with the cats! The owner went above and beyond to make sure that my birthday party was special and we all felt accommodated. I have come here several times to visit the cats previously and out of all the cat lounges I have been to, this one stands out for succeeding at giving cats a safe and stress-free place to call their temporary home. I can’t thank you enough for making my party and I have such an incredible experience!“

A huge shoutout and kudos to Cindy, our bartender. She has such an incredibly uplifting personality and brings the best energy to the room. Her vibes are infectious, and she makes sure everyone feels welcome and taken care of while crafting amazing drinks.

“Breakers Sky Lounge is a great spot if you’re looking for a fun night out without the chaos. There’s plenty of pool tables, so you’re not stuck waiting forever, and the vibe is laid-back but still lively. The karaoke setup is a big highlight, the sound system is really good, and it actually feels like a stage, not an afterthought.
The food surprised me in a good way, especially the wings and pizza, and the prices are reasonable for what you get. Staff was friendly and kept things moving, even when it was busy. Overall, it’s a solid place to hang out with friends, play pool, grab food, and stay out late without feeling overwhelmed.“

“Had an amazing dinner at The Simon. The restaurant looks beautiful with a great bar and interior. The drinks were excellent—we tried the Veranda and Lake Anne Smoke cocktails. The Carolina Gold Rice Risotto was my favorite. Great service and a wonderful experience overall.“

“We were looking for a good brunch with bottomless mimosas and we found this gem. Mimosas are on point. The food was good but I jusT wish they had a few more traditional brunch options. The atmosphere is lively and fun. The space is on the smaller side but I will return.“

“As soon as we walked in, the bartenders waved us to the bar like we were old friends and were so friendly. We came at 10pm on a Friday night and didn’t know they have one side of the restaurant as a club so be warned it gets very loud because of the music. We didn’t care but I know some people may find the info useful. We got the steak fajitas and ceviche and the steak was some of the best I’ve ever had. The ceviche was really good but super spicy and a lot of lemon. We had a good laugh at the guys singing karaoke and everyone included us in the shenanigans! If you want a fun night out, try this place. If you want a quiet peaceful dinner, maybe try to dine at an earlier hour.“
