“Excellent experience from the moment I opened the door. Greeted with a big smile by one of the sweet servers. Quickly met for a beverage by the second. Recommended the meatloaf and it’s divine! Not a typical diner. Think 5 star with smaller space. Tables could be sanded and repainted (no more shine. Prob bleach) but doesn’t change this perfect 5 star experience! Best place to eat before Roanoke off 81. Cute little outdoor patio and clean restrooms. Thank you for a great dinner!“
“I met up with some friends I haven't seen in about 48 years. We stayed a bit longer than most. The staff was very kind to allow us to hang out for the extended period of time. The food and the staff was great I would highly recommend this place.“

“I’m giving this four stars because I really enjoyed the restaurant, and the coffee was hot. The portion size was huge, but I was overall disappointed in the cinnamon roll. I can’t speak for the rest of the menu items, but I really felt that the cinnamon roll could have used a little bit of salt in the dough.“

“We ordered an egg and cheese biscuit and hash brown, and a smoked tofu on a vegetarian biscuit with grits. Best biscuit I've ever had, light and fluffy with good flavor. Wish they offered nom dairy milk for coffee, but we will return.If you are new like we were, it's an order at the counter set up with menus on the wall as you come in. “The food was absolutely amazing and I’ll be coming back when I’m in the area again. The only complaint I have is that the owner corrected an employee in front of customers this morning. If an employee did something wrong I would speak to them behind closed doors vs. in front of everyone to see and hear. It just doesn’t look professional.“

But the trick is to be eating in a place that has a variety of friendly people who have no problem talking to you about what is going on or the motorcycle you rode in on.The Waffle House is also known for its servers. They are very busy but always have time to hear what you have on your mind.I don't have a problem with talking to anyone, I fit right in with my fellow diners.Got a lunch sandwich I love, BLT. But it was a bit different than the ones I am used to eating.I don't want to say anything about the sandwich, but it fell apart like it was old bread, but I don't believe it was. Maybe I am used to Texas toast. It's a thick bread and stands up perfectly to bacon, lettuce, and tomato with a good amount of mayo.However, I would like to take a moment to be saying that hash-browns are a Waffle House specialty. Perfect and tasty. I love potatoes, and I definitely love their hash-browns.I don't eat here every day or often, but I love the experience and atmosphere of the best damn diner .“

“Famous Anthony's has been a staple around the Roanoke region for years. Food was as expected, the service was great, and the atmosphere was fine, just a bit outdated, which is irrelevant for my dining experience. This is a recommended place to have a sit-down meal by yourself or with the family.“
