“Went on a Sunday night and figured they would be busy because it was Valentines weekend. There was a long line when they opened. Had buffalo cauliflower and garlic fries. The garlic fries were everything. The pizza my husband and I shared was very good too. We had apple crisp for dessert which was also good. The only negative was the grapefruit hot honey margarita was a bit salty.“

“Fun atmosphere, tons of beer selection and the food I had was tasty and well put together. Our table did have an issue with nachos and some beer flights missing or made incorrectly but the manager, Frank, came by and turned it all around instantly. He was an absolute rockstar and his energy and passion are both evident. This franchise is lucky to have people like him working there!“

“We just had a large birthday party there last night are waitress. Kasey was awesome. There was 20 of us girls and she did not miss a beat. All the food was wonderful. It was my first time there as well as majority of the girls and everything was wonderful from the drinks to the food we will be back.👍“

“The food redeemed the initial impression of this place. Five 20-something females were gathered around the hostess stand chatting and finally acknowledged us, only to dismiss us with a proposed 15+minute wait because of "reservations." I defy anyone to find "reservations" on the website, FB, etc. for this restaurant on Pleasure House Road. The unfriendly attitude surprised me as VB is a tourist town and not just down on the strip. Because we had another engagement, we opted for dinner service at the bar; which is a bit too tall for comfort. The bartender was busy and we waited. We were finally able to order and had very good crab cakes and seafood Alfredo (a little watery). The surprise was the succotash ; which I would never ordinarily eat because lima beans are a hard NO. This succotash was made with edamame; very creative and tasty. Throughout the meal we watched several tables remain empty and the group of girls continue to cluster at the hostess stand. Management might want to eliminate some payroll overages. One last thing was a slovenly and surly looking young man with more hair hanging in his face than seemed hygienic; so glad he didn't serve us! As the start to our date night this was not a great success, but we had a good meal. This restaurant is recommended with "reservation".“

“My girlfriend and I went out for some fine dining last night at Terrapin, and it did not disappoint!! Our server Allie was a consummate professional, and the GM/sommelier was very friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a well-known fact that fine dining is not cheap, but not only were the prices not all that bad here, but the food quality was exceptional. They also have a special on Tuesdays: 50% off for service industry workers. I found that awesome, remembering where they started from, and making it available to those individuals. We are planning on making this a monthly thing for us. Shrimp tagliatelle for me, black squid ink linguine for her. Our entrees were chicken piccata for me, and she indulged in the roasted duck. For dessert, she selected a seasonal dessert special called It’s The Great Pumpkin, whereas I kept it simple with an affogato w/ French vanilla bean ice cream. 10/10 - would definitely recommend!!“

“If you are feeling adventurous, I encourage to take the drive to this restaurant especially if you love espresso martinis. Every time I go, everything is consistent. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food is amazing as well. Menu has many options. The owner is also hands on and is welcoming to guests and appreciative of anyone who comes to this establishment and makes everyone feels valued. “Mermaids in Virginia Beach is a lot of fun!! Went in there the other night with some friends and the girls were so friendly, they made us feel right at home. They were amazing to watch! I was told they are getting ready for the Pole and Floor show competition on Saturday, May 18th. I think that's worth going to just from what I saw. The specials were fantastic and the menu was great for either a late night snack or a quick lunch. The music was good, kept everyone upbeat and the security was visible, but not over imposing, and that made everyone comfortable. Can't wait to go back and drag a few more friends out! Of course I would feel comfortable walking in there alone for a drink and a snack :)“

“Ate here Thursday the 10th, food was tasty. The parking was confusing as there were signs all over of the risk of being towed. Asked someone in parking lot how the restaurant is. They stated very rustic but food is good. Our server Lindsey was awesome. Choice of beer on tap was mostly IPAs, not our favorites. Not many Craft beers available. I got the DB Vienna Lager which is always a good fall back when there's nothing else. The IPA my partner had was your typical grapefruity bitter IPA, not good. We ordered a dozen Clams Casino which were made to perfection! And we shared the Blackened Tuna cooked medium served on a roll. Yummy. It came with a little cup of wasabi a little too intense for our taste buds so we asked for tartar sauce instead. This came with a generous amount of Hush Puppies with butter on the side. I have never been offered butter with my Hush Puppies but I will be asking for it this way from now on, delish. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.“

“An impromptu stop at the newest location in Ocean View in Norfolk recently did not disappoint! Having dined many times at the original Holland Rd VB location we were already expecting an on point experience! The decor, hostess, bar service and -ambiance were all warm & inviting. We started our visit with handcrafted MANGO MOJITO w/ fresh mint & Cheese EMPANADAS.. Two golden flaky fried pastry were cooked perfectly, oozed warm cheese, & accompanied by a creamy tomato & a spicy green dipping sauce.. Dinner choice tonight was the Shrimp Mofongo w/ Garlic sauce. A huge perfectly seasoned, & fried basket of mashed plantains held a mix of grilled onions, garlic, peppers & shrimp . The grilled veggies & shrimp were nestled inside the crisp plantain basket and all sat in a pool of more garlic broth, perfect for soaking every savory bite in ! Since the portion was so ample, it was enjoyed once more for lunch the next day. Desserts of Tres Leches cake & Flan will have to be enjoyed NEXT visit as we were stuffed & satisfied our expectations for this location were totally delivered on . “I'm in Virginia Beach for work and I have to say the food was absolutely amazing . I went twice this week . But, the customer service is far better than the food !! My server yesterday EMILY WAS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD AT A RESTAURANT !! John the bartender on Monday 10/21 and the hostess ( I forgot her name black younger woman with a long weave ) . Were absolutely phenomenal ! They offered great suggestions for food and drinks . I wanted to leave and try another restaurant with would food but, those two customer service made me stay . All 3 are a gem that you don't find anymore in customer service . No matter how great the food maybe at a restaurant customer service is the most important part . They exceeded my expectations ! I went into work and told my coworkers that live in Virginia Beach they must try this place out ! The chicken, mac n cheese , and bisque are by the far the best !! Next time I'm in VA I WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK !!“
