“I ordered food to go. It was a bit before normal lunchtime. I must say they must be clean because the bleach smell was STRONG. Someone was mopping. I hope she wears a mask in the future. That bleach can have long-term effects, though I do appreciate the cleanliness.On to the food. I ordered Jerk chicken, cabbage, and plantains. The Jerk chicken was spicy with a hint of sweetness. I was going to eat only half, but ended up eating more. The cabbage was a bit different. I've had it with carrots before, but it also had bits of green beans. It was different, yet tasty. They were firm, not mushy, which is how I prefer it. The plantains were good. I prefer them with the crispy ends, but they were still soft and sweet.Overall, I enjoyed the food. I'll have to pop in again.“
“Every time we visit Virginia this will be our first stop. We were lucky enough to meet Ellen herself when making our order. She was soooo welcoming and kind. Not surprised they have been in business over 15 years. She made us feel like family and the food did not fall short either. Food was filled with flavor and high quality ingredients. They make fresh pies & cakes also. We originally were going to DoorDash but the menu was not all listed so we called and she was so nice over the phone we decided to pick up and glad we did. If you live in Virginia you need to eat there often! If you are visiting Virginia add this to a place to stop for food and you will not regret it.“
“This place should be called "Cheers." I feel like everyone knows everyone; but I'm fairly new to VA. Although it has the vibe of the neighborhood bar: very laid back; you can wear tennis shoes, or Louis Vuitton- loafers, like one of the very eligible-Bachelor was sporting; I really enjoyed myself on the few occassions I visited. Must check-out the Karaoke-night on Tuesday and grab a hookah, they rent them! The key to a good time for me is SAFETY, while their parking lot could benefit from more lighting, there is security outside and in; checking your bags... There is no cover on most nights, thereby allowing you to put that money on your 1st drink! “Hidden Gem ?Everything was excellent the food was very good and nice and hot. It was 5 of us, everyone had something different. I tried all of their food and I didn't have not one complainant.It was all seasoned well. My favorite was the meatloaf, and pork chops. The sides we good as well.All of the staff was friendly. Our waiter CJ was excellent.Met the owner and she was so nice and pleasant. The entire restaurant wasclean especially the restoom.I will definitely go again and again.“
