The Square Whale Reviews
Our server was awesome. The calamari was soggy. I think if it would have been a little more crispy it would have been good. The red cabbage on top was different but it was good
Buyer Beware!!! The online menu *IS NOT* what they serve!!! Nothing online is even adaptable to what they serve. Drinks took forever to be delivered. Nothing we wanted was what what was actually offered. Homemade chips not available even though it's offered as a side. Mac and cheese... Kraft from a box. Food came out hot and decent. Will NOT go back.
Had a great experience here while staying at the hotel. We chose it because kids get to eat free. We dined here 3 times during our stay and we loved the food and the service. We had fish & chips, burger, flatbread, crab cake sammie, ice cream, lava cake, kids Uncrustables, kids pizza, kids tenders & fries, and kids burger sliders and fries. Kids loved the fries. We ate out on the patio everytime and enjoyed it.

The Square Whale offers delicious food and friendly service. The pulled pork sandwich and shrimp tacos were highlights, and the macaroni and cheese was a favorite among kids. The staff, especially Sami, received high praise for being kind and making great recommendations. The Bavarian pretzel, club sandwich, and kids' meals like grilled cheese, kids tenders & fries, and kids burger sliders with fries were all enjoyed. The club sandwich, served on Texas Toast, was a big hit. Kids' meals also included a drink and ice cream. Located inside the Holiday Inn, the restaurant has a great view of the water and the food is consistently good. The staff is very friendly and attentive, with lots of smiles. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Guests appreciated the patio seating with water views, perfect for relaxing during their stay. The pizza, flatbreads, and build-a-bowl options received praise, especially the flatbreads with pesto, mozzarella, tomato, and balsamic, which are considered excellent and filling. Overall, while the food is good and service friendly, it is a convenient spot for hotel guests or those walking the boardwalk, rather than a destination restaurant.
