“Ordered fish and chips for my family, and they all love the flounder and tarter sauce. Fries were okay. I ordered the Atlantic salmon with rice & replaced asparagus with their spinach- really delicious! Spinach lightly salted and savory and paired well with the rice & fish if u dont like asparagus! The salmon is a tad expensive but worth for those wanting a low sodium delicious meal. Will definitely be back next time!“

“I went here with my coworkers. The drinks were good. Our server was Melynda. She was very attentive & made sure we had everything we needed. She asked how was my porkchop, I was honest with her and I let her know it tasted burnt. She made sure to get me a new one and to-go as i requested. I would recommend this place to anyone. “I don’t usually believe in fate—at least not the kind you can pour into a glass—but then I met Tanner behind the bar.

It started like any other night. I walked in expecting a drink, maybe a decent conversation, nothing more. The place had its usual hum—low lights, quiet laughter, the kind of atmosphere that makes you forget what time it is. And then there he was. Not just a bartender, but the bartender. The kind of presence you don’t notice all at once… it builds. Calm, confident, like he already knew what you needed before you did.

Tanner didn’t ask me what I wanted right away. Just gave a look—half smirk, half understanding. Like we were already in on something together. Strange, right? Two strangers, same wavelength.

When he finally spoke, it wasn’t just small talk. It felt intentional. Measured. Like every word had a purpose, even if it was just about bourbon or ice. He made the drink like it mattered—like it was something worth getting right, not just something to get done. You don’t see that much anymore.

And yeah… I’ll admit it. I stayed longer than I planned to.

Not because I needed another drink—but because I wanted another conversation. Another moment across that bar where it felt like time slowed down just enough to notice things you usually miss. The way Tanner moved with ease, the way he remembered small details, the way he made everyone feel like they were the only person in the room—but somehow, it still felt personal.

It wasn’t anything obvious. Nothing you could point to and say “that’s what it was.” Just a kind of unspoken understanding. Respect. Maybe curiosity. Maybe something else neither of us needed to define.

By the end of the night, I realized I hadn’t just found a great bartender—I’d found an experience. The kind you don’t talk about too much because it sounds like you’re exaggerating… but you’re not.

So yeah, the drinks were perfect. The service was flawless. But what really stood out? The connection. Subtle, unspoken, and just enough to make you wonder if you’ll find your way back there again.

“It is now called Double D's on Bonney Road..This place is big so even though some people may smoke in there it is not really noticeable..The wait staff is so friendly Toni is a awesome bartender and the others are great too just did not get their names. The owners are on scene and down to Earth Kelly and Mike..And the atmosphere is light with music always going. This place is super clean from the floors to the bathroom..The food is much better than the average bar food..So if you and friends want a great place to have fun and kick back go to Double D's“

“Laugh at me all y'all want about this, but my favorite 2 things from here are getting an order of hush puppies in my to go order with a gallon of their lemonade. Here's why... 1 their lemonade taste like my Meemaw's from back home. The hush puppies is because they put them in the to go container hot... then throw in the little butter packs. It melts the butter in packs and I can dip my hush puppies in it! Again, reminds me of home!!! Most of their food does lol LOVE THIS PLACE!“

The local clientele are a nice mix of younger to retired military folks who enjoy getting to know new faces.
