“We dined at The Porch over the weekend. Truthfully I would only give 3.5 stars. Don’t get me wrong, the food was delicious and the service was very good. However, the restaurant was VERY warm and we did not like that we had to swat away flies the entire time we ate. Plus we were celebrating my sons birthday who is dairy free, and they didn’t have any dairy free desserts, so we couldn’t sing happy birthday to him.“

“This was a wonderful surprise stop for us on the way home from a long weekend in DC! And the clear clam chowder was such a unique treat! We tried a broiled seafood platter, calamari, crab artichoke dip, speckled trout, and she crab soup. The only thing that wasn't amazing was the coleslaw- it was a very weird presentation- with a necessarily large amount of mayo glob on top of the raw cabbage slaw underneath (see pics). It could've easily been half the amount and moved for us before brought to the table. That was super weird looking. Otherwise a wonderful meal and great service!“

“A trip to any beach is not complete without a crab boil lunch/dinner. After reading the reviews Shaking Crab was my pick and it did not disappoint!! Our waitress was wonderful, the crab legs were very good sized, and the taste of the entire boil was even better!! My family decided this was the best crab boil we’ve ever had. Even the popcorn they brought us when we sat down was delicious.“

“Ate here Thursday the 10th, food was tasty. The parking was confusing as there were signs all over of the risk of being towed. Asked someone in parking lot how the restaurant is. They stated very rustic but food is good. Our server Lindsey was awesome. Choice of beer on tap was mostly IPAs, not our favorites. Not many Craft beers available. I got the DB Vienna Lager which is always a good fall back when there's nothing else. The IPA my partner had was your typical grapefruity bitter IPA, not good. We ordered a dozen Clams Casino which were made to perfection! And we shared the Blackened Tuna cooked medium served on a roll. Yummy. It came with a little cup of wasabi a little too intense for our taste buds so we asked for tartar sauce instead. This came with a generous amount of Hush Puppies with butter on the side. I have never been offered butter with my Hush Puppies but I will be asking for it this way from now on, delish. Staff was very accommodating and friendly.“

“Rockefeller’s has long been on my radar, as it regularly tops lists of best restaurants in Virginia Beach. After visiting, I can see why it’s such a local favorite, especially for the beautiful waterfront views. Watching boats glide by as you dine definitely adds to the atmosphere, making it a great spot for a leisurely meal by the water.

We had reservations for a Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m., though the restaurant wasn’t overwhelmingly crowded. For starters, I ordered the she-crab soup, which was hands down the best I’ve had in town—and I try it everywhere! Rich, creamy, and full of flavor, it set a high bar for the rest of the meal.

For entrees, I opted for the stuffed shrimp served over couscous, and it didn’t disappoint. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the couscous added a nice texture to the dish. I also tasted the salmon with an orange glaze, which was excellent. It’s a dish I’d happily return for. To finish, the pumpkin brûlée was delicious—it had the creamy texture of a cheesecake with a wonderful fall flavor.

As for the service, while it was efficient, I found it somewhat perfunctory. There wasn’t a lot of warmth or urgency, but it was certainly adequate.

All in all, Rockefeller’s delivered a solid dining experience with standout dishes, scenic views, and a relaxed ambience. I’ll definitely be back, especially for that salmon and the she-crab soup!“

“Let me please start this long winded review by saying that I have MAYBE written one review for any business in my entire life (“no cap” as my son would say)!!!! A tad of a back story, if you will…………… I hail from south Texas. I have been raised along side an offset smoker since I was a tad bit taller than a toad. I know my way around food like Jack did whiskey! I started my own BBQ catering business right here in in good ole P-town!! Unfortunately, I had to put her down do to being wildly ambitious and eagerly dumb hahahaha. Therefore, I would call myself an amateur pit master!!! Having said that……..I have been to many food places across this land, far and wide! I have tasted cuisine that many have only had the pleasure of streaming on the tubes!! When I tell you that this place………this place right here………my hats off to this business right here!!!!!!! I had picked up an order from this place before but only to deliver it to the customer. The smell alone was intoxicating!! I knew for sure that I HAD to try it one day. Well, that was roughly 5 weeks ago. Unfortunately, hard times are upon us all at one point in time or another. This just so happens to be mine hahaha. Today at noon, I was cruising the Grubhub (shoutout!) because I just so happened to scrounge up a few shillings, so I wanted to be like Donna and Tom and TREAT MY SELF!!! I knew just the place!!! CHEFSKIP 757!!! It was time to see what the hype is all about! When my order arrived, I had the most excitement I’ve had in a while!! I grabbed my drink, sat down on the recliner, put on a movie, and then opened the box……. Let me tell you that when the presentation alone after being handled by multiple people……this person did it!!! Perfect presentation!! Then came the fries….(.because that’s how it’s always supposed to be!!! Fries then main!!!) These fries were on point!!!! Perfect flavor! Perfectly crispy! Perfectly soft on the inside!! In my mind……how on earth are these fries this delicious?! Then, one just so happen to land on the sauce……the sauce…..THE SAUCE!!! OH MY LANTA!!! How did this business manage to make the PERFECT sauce?!?! I knew it was time to taste this Philly!!! Y’all……….this….sandwich…..BLASTED!!!! I genuinely could not believe how amazing this sandwich tasted!!! I set this thing down and just stared at it……like I was in a dream!! Bite 2…….even better than the first bite!!!!!! I can not tell you how absolutely sad I was to have ended the meal. I felt like I had a void that will only ever be filled by this place!! I would like to thank this place in person one day for giving me the opportunity to talk hard trash about LITERALLY any other Philly shop in town!!!! I will fight with my dying breath for this place! I will travel to galaxies far far away to speak the truth and blessing that is……Chef Skip 757!!!!“
