“This place is amazing. Three of us ate for $30. The food was outstanding, I had the shrimp Diablo and for once at a restaurant it was actually spicy and I like my spice. My husband had carne asada street tacos and they were just like remembered them from Mexico. Sebastian was our waiter and he was attentive without being intrusive. Refilled our drinks without asking and moved incredibly fast. Others asked us what we thought of the service/food/etc. which was appreciated. Came here on a trip away and this was the best meal we’ve had all week.“

I was there for about an hour and he checked on me twice. Not a huge issue but I would expect more than twice in an hour. “The service is amazing! The servers came right away, made sure we had what we needed and gave us our food fresh off the grill. The food was amazing! So fresh and savory! You can never go wrong with eating here. The environment is calm and cool, great place to bring friends and family! “I love the food and the chill atmosphere. As a vegan, I really appreciate their vegan menu. One thing that I found weird is that this location doesn’t serve the vegan potato tacos. One time, they made it for me and it was amazing. A few days later , I asked for it again, and the staff got really irritated with me and accused me of lying about being served the potato tacos. For such a chill surfer/ punk rock brand, they are very militant about not serving potato tacos. Please rethink your potato policy as most of your vegan protein options have gluten .“

“More than filling! We ate the Fried Chimichangas and the Guad-Especial, and both were more flavorful than I could believe. Often, at other Mexican restaurants, the filling is bland and food relies on the topping--NOT HERE! Seasoned chicken and beef in both my Chimis, and the Guad-special was just as delicious. Also had a Chili relleno that was amply stuffed and just as tasty as everything else. Fast service and a friendly staff, and the decor was nice, with roomy booths and typical Tex-Mex decor (though not too much, so not tacky!) We will definitely add El Portillo to our list of favorites. Looking forward to more treats next visit!“

“We've been eating at Plaza Azteca on Providence for a long time. We knew this restaurant was here but never stopped. Today we did. Maybe not as fancy as the Providence location but the food was better. The chips were better. The red sauce was better. The white sauce was better. The rice was better. The enchiladas were better. The shredded beef in the enchiladas was better. The flan was better. The steak was better. I was surprised. We called the manger over to compliment the food. We learned he's been there for 26 years and tastes the food everyday all day to make sure everything is up to his standards. I could taste his standards. We will be back.“

It's $17 for a Burrito after tax, but they're MASSIVE. I could only eat 2/3rds and I was starving when I started. The ingredients were flavorful and decent quality, it was delicious after a night out on the town.Only complaint: my burrito had VERY little Carne Asada tho I paid extra for it. There was also avocado missing from both myself and partners burritos even tho it said it came on both. (I was sad, I was looking forward to my healthy fats.)Would I eat here again? We prefer the El Azteca off E. Little Creek road as the food is better in our opinion but this location is more convenient for us.
