“Quaint and comfortable, small town eatery with super professional and friendly staff and delicious, although limited, menu. Doesn't matter though...the ambiance and quality totally make up for it. The plate presentation is culinary grade and the flavors are devine but a little pricey for the portions, but all is forgiven for the tough times and raising costs in Vermont. My steak was a poor cut, seeming some porter or strip and quite slot of gristle, but prepared as I asked.“

“My overall experience at 3 Squares Café was great! The staff were very friendly. I ordered the tuna melt with a side salad, and the maple balsamic vinaigrette was amazing!
The only small detail I noticed was that there was some food on the rim of the plate. While it didn’t affect the taste, a cleaner presentation would have made the experience even better.“

“Restaurant Review: Fire and Ice - Middlebury VT -- This restaurant is a multi-generation family-owned restaurant that has made its staple in the Middlebury area. It has designed its restaurant to cherish the memories of the town and family. You can definitely see this in its eclectic, interesting decor, starting with the Sailing Boat Hull Shaped roof to the 10+ curated themed rooms that are filled with local treasuries and memories; you can see what families flock to this restaurant, big and small, to enjoy a fantastic family dinner. -- As a seasoned traveler, having explored 68 countries and 36 states, I approach restaurant reviews with a clear criterion: Taste, Presentation, and Service. My goal is to provide an impartial perspective, highlighting both the commendable and deficient aspects of dining establishments. -- The evening started with our amazing waitress - Michelle. She had a bubbly personality, constantly checking in with us, and was quick to answer questions, provide feedback and recommendations, and quickly resolve minor issues. She represented the restaurant well. -- Appetizers We started with the Fried Mozzarella. Since we were a party of 5, I decided to order 2 orders. Big mistake. They were surprisingly large, cooked perfectly, and served with an extraordinarily tasting thick creamy marinara sauce. -- Vietnamese Spring Rolls. I was very excited about this appetizer because, most of the time, you get deep-fried rolls that taste like oil. These rolls were wrapped in rice paper, served cold, and had the perfect combination of shrimp and vegetables - accompanied by a fresh cucumber salad and served with Ponzu (soy) and peanut dipping sauce. Very refreshing to the palette, especially before a hardy meal. -- Filet Mignon - this 8 oz filet was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside with a buttery and soft interior, which you can top it off with bearnaise sauce or 2 amazing additional sides for the steak, a Bacon-Onion Jam, which was absolutely amazing, and pickled onions. My favorite was the combination of jam and pickled onions, which were savory, sweet, and tangy. Served with a baked potato. -- Shrimp Risotto - a special for the night was topped with a creamy chevre, green peas, and garnished with an amazing watermelon radish. I find that either you do risotto right or you fail miserably. In this instance, the risotto was cooked perfectly and presented with a velvety and creamy texture, great consistency, and the perfect combination of flavors to round the dish. I was impressed with the presentation by adding the spiraled watermelon radish, which added a great dimension to the dish. -- Classic Fettucine Alfredo - This is a tough dish for me to review as I had authentic original Fettucine Alfredo with Alfredo di Lelio's family in Italy. The founder of Fettucine Alfredo. This dish definitely stood up to the classic dish as well as it could, and in comparison to other versions I have eaten, it definitely ranks well. -- Whiskey Barrel Steak (not pictured) was my main entree. This dish was definitely amazing. I was a little nervous that the Whiskey and Vermont Maple Syrup Marinade was going to be overpowering. Still, alas, it was the perfect combination of rich, smokey notes and sweet undertones of the syrup. It really provided the perfect addition of sweetness to the dish while still allowing the flavors of the steak to really stand out. The twice-baked potato reminded me of the times my father twice baked potatoes as a kid. Hard top shell broke open with a creamy textured potato filling. -- Overall - This restaurant was excellent. It provides a space for the locals and visitors to get together and have a large selection of local flavors with twists along the way. The owner clearly takes pride in what he puts on the table, and the guests are treated with a great experience. Make sure you walk through the restaurant to see all the different dining spaces, which is a great conversation starter. Fire and Ice Restaurant“

“Food was delicious and flavorful, we had the veg pakora, tandoori chicken, Kashmiri chicken and chicken biryani, we throughly enjoyed all dishes. Service can be improved on especially by the lady in front, she does everything and this takes away from customer service. The second time we returned with a reservation and was still given a bad table in the entrance, our reserved table was given to walk-ins. The lady running food and water is very sweet and caring.“

“The food was tasty. The salad dressing was very good. There are no servers for lunch but they still prompt for a tip as if there was a server. They did bring our drinks and pizza to the table. I always downgrade my tip in places like this. The place is an old mill with a large wood fired oven.“

“I showed up without a reservation and was promptly seated. I ordered Vegetable Massaman Curry with Hot Thai flavoring. I am completely satisfied.“

“The food was very good, it was all freshly prepared. In my opinion the food, in general was a little bit oily/greasy. The Crab Rangoon, were hands down the best in the region. The breading on the chicken fingers was a bit to thick. Same with the General Tso chicken. The flavor the freshness.... all there...just heavy breading. These are personal preferences not a bad report on the food. Grade A+ for the food. Nice dining room, very clean and bright.“

“Park Squeeze is the definition of “fine.” Not great, not bad, just relentlessly, reliably mid—which, in Vergennes, is actually a selling point. The food is consistent, the prices won’t make you question your life choices, and if you need a quick, predictable bite without getting trapped in some hour-long ordeal, this is your spot.
Burger Night? Decent deal, though it used to be better—like everything else before the world decided mediocrity was acceptable. Still, for a low-moderate-priced meal, you could do worse (see: Rockers). The bar has a reasonable selection, nothing to write home about but nothing offensive either. Surprisingly of note is the bathroom—it’s clean, has a baby-changing station, and isn’t the kind of place that makes you feel like you need to wash your hands after washing your hands, unlike a lot of other places in town.
That said, the layout makes about as much sense as a Jackson Pollock painting. The dining area and bar are upstairs, up a set of narrow stairs that seem specifically designed to trip up anyone who’s had one too many drinks. Space is tight, so while it’s relatively family-friendly, it’s also intimate—which means if you end up next to some loud local who just got off their shift at the aerospace factory, congrats, you’re now a part of their therapy session.
Ultimately, Park Squeeze is what it is: the best spot in town for a quick, adequate meal that won’t break the bank or require a two-hour commitment. Just hope you don’t get seated next to someone looking to share their existential crisis over a Coors Light.“

“What a pleasant surprise. I knew the atmosphere would be Old World cozy and classy - but didn’t know it would be warm and down to earth (not classic and cold as some similar places might be).
But I didn’t expect the menu to be so creative and filled with reasonably priced surprises. The unexpected twists and variety of different foods for all tastes went way beyond what one might expect from a hotel restaurant.
Plus, we happened upon half price for wine bottle evening, which was another pleasant surprise.
Yet none of that would have been as satisfying had the service not been so friendly, again, down to earth and professional.
It was one of the most pleasant experiences at a restaurant I can remember and would be worth a trip even from Burlington to enjoy.“

“Been going here for decades when visiting VT. Lisa runs a tight ship to serve her customers well and interacts sincerely with customers. Variety of menu options and the resultant food are wonderful and we enjoyed each meal we had there on our recent trip; as we always do. We value the food quality, service and willingness to be open over labor day weekend each day! Thank you Lisa and team !“
