“This is THE spot and that is a hill I’m willing to die on. I expected a low key hotel bar but what I experienced was so much more. I truly felt transported to full on winter apres ski cozy hangouts with friends/family. This space is plentiful with a variety of comfortable and ample seating along with great decor and ambiance from staff and patrons alike. We were fortunate enough to visit on a night with live music which made the experience all the more unforgettable. While our order was simple, white wine and a s’mores board, it was fantastic. This will for sure be a crowd favorite !“

“We stopped in for dinner during our trip to Stowe. The food was really good. Our waitress forgot our fries and the kitchen had closed, so that was a bummer. She did compensate us though and that was nice. Overall, it’s worth the wait if you can’t get a reservation.“

It’s a terrific venue for bands looking to reach an appreciative crowd of live music lovers. Service was friendly and excellent, willing to mix you a grandpa’s whisky sour with Squirt. Not your typical bar fare here with coq au vin over noodles and gumbo that was a standout.“

“This is a beautiful spot by the winooski river, we ate on the outside porch with a view of the river, even saw a mother Robin feeding its young in a nest in the rafters. I had linguine pescatore which was delicious, my partner had scampi e cape sante also delicious but unfortunately both meals were light on the scallops hers had 1, also I have to wonder why some sort of bread wouldn’t be served with these dishes. I did mention to staff after and they offered to compensate which I turned down but was made sure I would be treated next time we’re in the area The staff here are great and service was quick, definitely a place to go“

“We enjoyed a fine meal at the Whip this evening. The food was excellent. The drink was very good. The seating on the deck outside by the pool was very nice. The service was not so great. First we waited much too long for our server to find us at the table outside and they seemed not too happy to be serving us. Water and bread came out but getting a second glass of water took way too long. We weren’t in a hurry but the waits in between seeing our server were too long. We were the first to be seated on the deck outside but the three other couples that arrived after us had the chance to eat full meals and pay long before we did. We could see our server moving about the kitchen and other areas but serving us didn’t seem to be on the top of the list of things to do. The wait for the check was very long. We considered going to ask someone to provide it so we could leave. Dinner tonight was to celebrate my birthday and we didn’t skimp. The bill was around $165. Apps, dinner and a couple drinks. But overall the service left us disappointed.“
