“Side quest for Hawaiian food is always comforting, and Kauai Family Restaurant is the spot for it. They’ve got all your Hawaiian favorites on the menu. I ordered a couple of the combos and some katsu—everything was solid. Some items were a bit on the salty side for my taste, but still enjoyable. It wasn’t too busy when I went, so the food came out pretty quick. The vibes inside really made you feel like you were in Hawaii. Definitely check their hours before you go, since they’re mostly open just for lunch and early afternoon.“

“The owners are truly kind, grateful people. The food is fresh- I had a Poke bowl with Salmon and avocado, and it was FULL of good flavor. My kids were crazy about the BBQ Chicken- awesome portions and fantastic sweet/smoky flavor! My wife tried the Yakisoba, and loved all the vegetables. “Came in for lunch to a modest looking family owned establishment. Greeted by nice lady at the counter where we ordered some poke. Friendly service, seems like a small family operation with maybe two people running front and back. The meal came out when it came out but we weren’t at all in hurry. Generous portions and quality of fish surprised me for being all the way out in Kent. Looking forward to definitely come back again.“

The person who helped me was fast too — very efficient.

My only sad comment is that I went to their website and confirmed that this is their only location…. I live 30 mins away and was only in the area for errands and now I HAVE to go back here because of how *magnificent* what I ate yesterday was.

He also hooked me up, that was a hefty portion of food.

I’m not being dramatic when I say this puts some local chains to shame. Those places are so bland and stingy with the fish (isn’t the fish literally the point?) in comparison.

“Good place with decent food. There are nice people working at this restaurant. The service was good but it takes a while if you need to order the food there and wait. Best to do is call in and pick up.

Food wise, the macaroni salad needs a bit more salt and seasoning. It’s a bit dense and does not have much taste to it. I asked that the egg be over easy, but they are a bit overcooked. I think the overcook came from the warm meat in the To-go box it ended up cooking the eggs a bit more than I like. The meat was fantastic just needs more gravy to finish the food.

I’ll come back for something different.“

“This is one of my favorite poké spots. Short of making it myself, this is my go-to. Delicious, high quality fish with all the fixings you could ask for. The helping of fish is ample and consistent. This place also doubles as a boba shop! Can't recommend enough for my poké fans out there. Try the house shōyu and dynamite combo for your bowl 🔥

Parking: It's in a mall, so there is always parking right out front any time of day.

“Everything was delicious! We got the bbq chicken and short ribs plates. Portions are big, you could split one, but why would you want to? Their Kimchi was so amazing I wish I could take a bucket of it home with me 💚 if I live here, I would visit all the time.
