“Terri and Karlee operate a first class business with delightful, smart, skilled baristas who consistently serve great hot & cold beverages and food. I love their vanilla chai lattes which they customize to perfection every time. Terri also operates KJ's with selfless community spirit and integrity. Terri and KJ's survived the brutal COVID lockdown period which affected every resident and business in Newcastle financially. In spite of the COVID period struggles, Terri refused ARPA grants so money can go to more essential services that "serve the entire Newcastle community". Newcastle needs more operators and businesses like Terri and KJ's Cup O' Joe.“
“Awesome customer service orientated staff members, Speedy service, Baristas are trained well, drinks are always satisfactory and exactly as I order, never burnt and never rushed. The only downside to this franchised name is that it is located within a grocer with minimal seating areas for those who want to stop and smell the roses.. I mean arabica beans, before work and a long day ahead but I dare say if you are a young professional on the go then this is the place to be before your commute.Shoutout to Sundayja(Sp?) who has a great eye for merchandising and a great memory for customer orders and name recognition. She made me a Cinnamon Caramel Cream Cold Brew one day that was just the bees-knees dude. Not just a Barista but an artist with the way she painted that cinnamon on.“
“Need a drive thru for lazy people like myself that don't want to get out of the car and find parking when it's only to get a cup of coffee, but it's impossible with this type of commercial building that it's in. Go to Java Joint right across the street if it's pouring rain. Product here at Starbucks is still decent, it's located right off Coalcreek where Safeway is. “I frequent 3 different locations and this is one of the best. I just left a poor review of the Rainier Ave S location because their service is awful and they never make my drink right. I only go there because it’s a few blocks from my work. I don’t have these issues with this location in Newcastle which is right by my house. Their customer service is always outstanding, and my drink always tastes the same and delicious. It’s just a pleasant experience to come to this location. Plus, I’ve been in here my dogs before and the employees just love it!“
“When you see a place that's open 3 days a week for 2 hours per day, you have to be intrigued.Came here on a Thursday and got in line at 8:30am. Sat in a camping chair in the cold patiently waiting for some malasadas.Definitely worth it. I got one of each (lemon curd, strawberry, tiramisu, and chocolate hazelnut - listed in personal preference) with a brownie on the side. To go with my fresh doughnuts, I also ordered an oat-chata.Doughnuts were fresh and enjoyed on the spot. The oat-chata was fantastic and I would go back there just for another one. The brownie was a brownie, but figured I'd give it a try given the wait.Good vibes with the interior. Lovely staff. “I discovered this place thanks to TGTG but it quickly became one of my favourite spots in the neighbourhood! They offer great variety of delicious pastries, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. “The tofu sandwich was delicious! I'm used to the pre-made Vietnamese tofu sandwiches that I used to grab when I lived in San Francisco (still yummy). But this one was so FRESH, warm, juicy, and delicious. The baguette was perfect crunchy crust and soft insides. Can't recommend enough!“
