“This is by far the best little restaurant on the Long Beach Peninsula. They had a rock fish special and is one of the best meals I have had in a while. The ambiance, the service/owner/staff, and the food were phenomenal. I normally don't leave reviews but this place was too special not to give a proper shout out.”

“I had the fish and chip cod with onion rings the. cod was very dry no flavor to it at all all you can taste is grease in the Cod and in the onion rings and a bowl of clam chowder which clam chowder was not clam chowder it was bacon and potatoes there was no clams in it it tasted like bacon and grease my friend had the French dip the bread was small and hard the meat was dry did not taste good at all would not recommend this place to anybody ever again food absolutely sucks the cook done is now how to cook he doesn't know how to change his oil or how to get the food out correctly I would not recommend this place to anybody nor their food very disgusting and disappointed in it”

“Some of the best fish tacos I’ve ever had! They also make homemade tortillas and tortilla chips that are also some of the best I’ve ever had. The pickled veggies on the salsa bar were also so delicious. I wish that we had eaten here earlier in our trip so that we could have come back! Will definitely return on my next trip to Long Beach.”

“Restaurant hours posted on building and Webb site state open till 8pm. However tonight we arrived at 7:15 and were told we could only order take out. This has not been the policy in the past. This acting cashier/manager said this is how HE does things. 10 customers came immediately after after us and left. We did order take out but were very disappointed in new policy and advised to advertise the change. Not good business.”

“What a wonderful restaurant that flies under the radar! First, you can very easily drive right by it without seeing it since there are no exterior ornamentation or colors that easily identify the place as Mexican. It looks more like an American cafe. Second, the name. "Food Yamilet" doesn't exactly ring any Hispanic bells. But don't drive by it! Once you're inside the clean and brightly lit place, you're in for a treat. We arrived at 5 pm for dinner and quickly realized that this is a fresh, scratch-made foods kind of place so don't be disappointed if they may be out of a few items on the menu. Plan on having a secondary choice if necessary. Personally, I'd rather have that than just opening up another can from Gordon's food service!
Also, don't expect any complimentary chips and salsa. I believe the owner doesn't want to throw out wasted food at the end of the day so if you really want chips and salsa you have two options. $8 for the fresh legit ones or they have separately bagged Doritos, sun chips, etc for $1.50 per bag. Clever. I ordered one cheese and jalapeno tamale and one pork tamale with a side of rice and beans. They were out of the mole tamale and green sauce so I asked if they had a "hot sauce" and they did. They brought it out in a little bowl along with the red sauce on the tamales. If you like heat, go for the hot sauce! My wife had the Sopa De Albóndigas (meatball soup). Both of our meals were incredible, flavorful and filling. There aren't a lot of tables inside so go early or plan on waiting. The bathroom was super clean and the waitress was great. The owner was so sweet. She came out to ask how we liked the food and we raved - which put a big smile on her face. Highly, highly recommended for food made with love.”

Needing to feed my kid at 9pm and had requests for pizza… well I got lucky walked in at 9:15ish and asked if they were still making pies at first it was a no but when I asked for advice on food in town asap besides McDs they accommodated my last minute Hawaiian pizza put it in the oven and took it to the family! It was delicious ? such a great friendly place ”

“We were looking for a breakfast place in Long Beach and decided to give Benson's a try. We were so glad we did! Delicious food came to our table after a short wait. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was really tasty. My Big Bro ordered the pancake breakfast and the pancake was so large, it extended over the plate it was served on! He loved the light and fluffy texture and told me that the pancake was delicious. Lil Sis ( who has a little appetite ) ordered the kid's French Toast with strawberries and whipped cream. She gave it a "thumbs up". My kid ordered the breakfast sandwich and hoovered it up in minutes! The prices are quite reasonable and everything was delish! Highly recommend!”

“We discovered this “pirate bar” by chance while we were passing through. And on our second evening we were right back here. Fish and chips and the burgers are perfect. Large portions, great taste, fair prices. Everything freshly prepared.
If you dare, take one or even three oyster shots. Plus more than 10 different beers on tap. Finally, the super service should be mentioned. You can try beers before ordering and when my hot sauce ran out I suddenly had a new portion, for free.

“They say we eat with our eyes. I think this is true and the presentation of food here Spot On. Everything looks great. Portions are large. We had a fish sandwich, Nachos, and the LBT burger. Everything was good. Food is lightly seasoned but there is salt and pepper on the table. We had to order at the bar and refill drinks at the bar but everyone was friendly and service was fast. We will definitely return.”

“Nice traditional Chinese food with great decor inside. We had a bit of everything from a few combination plates. My favorite was the pork fried rice and sweet & sour chicken. Egg flower soup was also very good.

Kid-friendliness: Had a loud toddler energetic toddler with us and the waitress provided him with a coloring book and crayons. Also gave us a small drink holder w straw for the water and an extra plate when dinner arrived at our table.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs coming from the parking lot. All flat ground with handicap parking next to the entrance.”

“The food is good but one thing that annoyed me is that there’s nowhere to get water except for buying it. They have a fountain machine and could easily have water available there.

They also seem to not be properly staffed as at one point they stopped taking new orders for an hour.”
