“Bongos is a fusion style restaurant serving unique dishes from a few different nationalities. I ordered the gumbo and the jerk chicken plate. The gumbo was tasty but definitely not southern style as expected. The jerk chicken breast was super juicy ? but I found it lacked flavour. The value for food here is really good.I have to mention that all dishes are being served in plastic containers and cutlery that are not even being recycled, this is horrible. Serve your customers some real plates and metal utensils, I can't even imagine the amount of waste coming out of here. Get it together!“
“Incredible food. The brisket, ribs, and chicken were all amazing. The greens were the best I've ever had, being from South Carolina that is saying something. To top it all off the sweet potato/pecan pie was out of this world. Don't hesitate to try Red's food!“
“This is a small restaurant. It was jam-packed as we had to wait almost an hour for a table. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. It was well worth the hour of wait time,Parking: It was challenging to find a parking spot we had to park a block away.“
“Have eaten here multiple times for lunch and always great. This time I ordered their catering option for a 30th birthday I was hosting. It was a huge hit! We ordered pork, chicken and tofu options. We had lots of leftovers and the guests all raved about the food!Would definitely recommend for any catering needs.Vegetarian options: Beans and rice are vegan.Tofu optionsDietary restrictions: Can accommodate peanut and nut allergies“
“This delightful dining experience took me straight back to Houston! The Caribbean Roast Sandwich and Roasted Street Corn were nothing short of celestial. I'm eagerly looking forward to my next visit to this establishment. Having spent a year in Seattle, this is the first time I've been genuinely impressed and wowed by a culinary experience!“
“One of the best restaurant experiences I've had in a while. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was exactly what I've been craving for the last 10+ years. It is hard to find good Caribbean food in Washington, let alone with the Trini spices. I will definitely have to make the journey back to this place soon.“
“My husband and I each got the pork belly and we loved it! The meat was very tasty and the dipping sauces were an added delight. My drink was strong and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was very artsy and welcoming. We highly recommend!“
“I ordered the Jerk Shrimp with rice and peas and fried plantain. Everything was seasoned well and very delicious. The portion size was great, I had half for dinner and the rest for lunch. Service was prompt and friendly. I only stayed to get my order but while I was there, the music was nice.“
“Everything we had was high quality, flavorful and super a scrummy!! Guacamole/plantain chips, beef enpanita, shrimp tacos, brisket taco, Cuban Sammy. People around us had these beautiful cocktails with flowers, umbrellas, etc. Huge selection of rum too. Loved the decor and servers were sweet as pie.“
“Truly unreal experience, vibes 10/10, service 10/10, food 10/10. Crazy delicious!! Came in for a late lunch w my girlfriend and was hella lowkey, dope reggae dub playing, server was crazy nice and welcoming, and the food was out of this world. Can't wait to pop back in!“
“Not sure if its with age or not, but I remember this place being amazing when i was in high school. Nowadays, I feel like the dishes lack a bit a flavor. Still good but not as good as I remember it. With that being said, I would recommend this place. Great people running the shop and food still pretty bomb.“
“On a Saturday afternoon after running a heap of errands in south Seattle I was famished! I needed sustenance of a homey sort nothing fast or fried would suffice. The thing that was on my mind and heart was OXTAIL! I'd been craving the succulent meat for a while with no hope of ever finding a restaurant near me with the option. I searched Jamaican and this restaurant came to the top of the list. Within a close proximity too! I scurried as fast as I could to the location. When I pulled into the parking lot I noticed a small mart and across from it was a modest food truck wrapped in the colors of the Caribbean and I KNEW I was in the right place. The single operator was outside of the truck erasing something from the board and my heart sank. I knew what was being removed in my soul I knew... I approached the truck and saw with a heavy heart the oxtail had been sold out. That didn't stop me I bantered with the kind lady that was attending and I ordered a plate of curry chicken with a side of Sorrel. OUTSTANDING! The flavors were rich the meat delicate and of course cooked to perfection. The fresh thyme sprigs weren't just there for show they did their job too! I know exactly where to go when I'm craving a good authentic Jamaican meal and they serve breakfast too! I'd advise to check the hours before arriving as well as maybe giving her a call. You won't regret the meal nor the sleep after it's been consumed. I will be making a steady appearance to this place albeit the price is reasonable the satisfaction is priceless. Thank you Just Like Home!“
“Food is really good, well-priced, and plentiful. It's far enough away from Market to have plenty of parking around. It was cold but they had a couple of nice heaters to sit under - they could use a few more probably. Strongly recommend!“
