Continuation of an institution. Food is provided from the diner next door (Lost Lake), which dropped quality since the pandemic (Covid-19). Separate from the diner, the bar's booze pours and beer options are solid. Though it doesn't quite live up to the entity that was the original Comet, it's a solid happy hour and late night option for an old skool Capitol Hill dive bar vibe, which is currently a very short list.
This is my go to bar for brunch on the weekends. X is the best bartender I've interacted with in Seattle and the vibes are very chill. I like to just go here to enjoy food from Lost Lake without the crowds or wait time, and to get amazing drinks that I swear are made with love.The people always seem really cool and honestly the typical Seattle attitude of not talking to each other seems to not exist here and I mean that in a good way. Cool atmosphere of the old bar’s history, but the bartender could’ve been cooler to match the vibe. He was a stickler and wouldn't exchange my drink out when I didn’t like the first one he made me. Guess I hurt his feelings.
