“Fantastic tavern in a beautiful neighborhood in north end. A huge variety of tasty local beers. Beautifully decorated with a warm inviting atmosphere. Didn’t have food but heard (and saw) that it’s fantastic. Lots of games including shuffleboard, darts and pool for only 50 cents!!“

“Walk through the door, a dozen pinball games line the entrance. Approach the bar to a great selection of beer, hard alcohol and some amazing people behind the bar. Cocktail recommendations listed behind the bar. Amazing selection of sandwiches from Phillys to Cubans. They treated me like an old friend instead of a new customer. This is truly the heart of and height of old school Tacoma hospitality. Rumor on the street is they're expanding their venue for live music, and I can't wait to get back there.“

“Flying boots is very much so the typical dive bar. The drinks are reasonably priced, the clientele are all friendly, and the bartenders (while very busy at some points) are friendly.
I recommend they're jalapeno poppers and the cheese logs as all of those are made scratch in house.“

“Went for the karaoke and was a little let down. It was a good crowd and lots of different music was played but unless you know the karaoke lady good luck getting a second song in. She kept her regulars in rotation. It does get busy on a Saturday night so you're going to wait for a drink. Food was pretty good. It's bar food and for some reason I love bar food. Great mix of people and everyone was respectful.“

“My friend and I meet here every month for brunch to have a “catchup conversation”. These can get a bit long. The servers are great about letting us sit while they keep coffee cups full and delicious food (waffles are amazing) coming “in stages”. I look forward to the dining experience almost as much as visiting with my friend.“

“We came in late and sat outside. Service seemed a bit stretched. Appetizer didn't come out until our food came out. None of it was warm.
Gyro was bare bones, tzatziki sauce was tasty but only splattered on the pita, minimal vegetables, less than succulent meet on top lacked sauce to cover the late-in-the-day meat.

Still, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The decor and building is AAA. I'll be back but will probably stick with one of the more busy bars for food and choose a more staple pub item.“
