“I have been going to Altoona family for years over a decade at least and when my son was in an accident in 2022 the owners made sure we were taken care of when we ate there, special pancakes with sprinkles and whip cream. Now today I went there with my son and I ordered my usual and the owner paid for my meal.. This restaurant surely is amazing and all over the best family restaurant in our area and Im not just saying this because of a free meal. Everytime I go there she (the owner ) is always talking to me asking me how I am doing just like a family catching up, plus the service great food and prices is why I will continue to go back time and time again and support such an amazing family! thank you for all that you and your staff do!“

“We are regularly at Randy's, about every Friday you'll find us there. We have never had a bad meal,always plenty of food and the prices are very fair. The wait staff are always friendly, our food comes out fast. I would definitely recommend Randy's for a good meal, breakfast, lunch,and dinner all good.“

“Tour of the brewery was very informative, engaging and very personal. Small group of only four of us. Enjoying the gift shop and bar afterwards was a lot of fun. Huge selection of Leinies beers and gifts. All in all a great experience for a small tour fee of about $30 which included tour, samples and a pint afterwards.“

“It was our first time at Sammy’s. Hubby and I wanted something quick and simple and affordable. I had always wanted to stop for the salad buffet. We ordered the lunch special which is the personal pizza and salad bar. The salad bar was good but if I had my way, I wish it had greens and not shredded iceberg. I’d pay a dollar or two more for that. 😂 But it was still good and fresh. The waitress was SUUUUPPPEERR friendly. I asked her recommendation for pizza and she said the primo which is what I ordered. It did not disappoint! What I noticed immediately that it was REAL sausage chunks. Not the cheap pellets you sometimes see. Also I saw that there was sausage evenly distributed to ensure you get a piece of meat at every bite. Most places don’t do that and it drives me nuts. The crust was thin and crunchy which I loved. There was a good sauce to cheese ratio. If you want something affordable, stop at this great mom n pop restaurant. They even have take home frozen pizzas. No cardboard pizzas here. We will be regular customers when we crave pizza. Yumm!“

“My husband and I were in the area for Thanksgiving from Illinois. I really wanted to try a supper club. We had shrimp cocktail, the fish fry dinner, and a burger. It was all delicious! The salad bar comes with any entrée and was so good. Everything was fresh and there was a variety to choose from. We sat at the bar. Not only was the service great but we talked with some really friendly people next to us. I'm so glad we tried it and would definitely recommend!“

“I absolutely love The Informalist and have a five-star experience nearly every time I come here! From the ambiance to the service to the food, they consistently knock it out of the park.

HOWEVER, we dined here last night, and I have to say, the airline chicken was extremely disappointing. I’ve ordered this dish before and was really looking forward to having it again, but it has been completely reworked. The last time I ordered it, it was a savory chicken thigh with a delicious sauce and cornbread. It was comforting, flavorful, and honestly one of my favorite dishes on the menu. When I ordered it on September 18, 2026, I was surprised to receive something entirely different. It was essentially a chicken breast served with untrimmed green beans and felt like a completely different dish from the one I remembered, and not worth the $38 price tag.

The rest of our meal was phenomenal, and I still love The Informalist, but if a dish is going to be changed this dramatically, I really think it needs a new name or a clearer description on the menu. What I received was simply not what I was expecting based on my previous experience with the dish.

“This place has had me in a choke hold since around 2005. About 20 years, this is the best teriyaki chicken. Portions are a bit smaller than they used to be with the protein, but the taste has stayed the same. I will always love this place. It's comfort food.“

“We ordered combination pho, Eric’s curry, $10 Mary’s beef ramen, pot stickers, egg rolls and mango green tea. It was all amazing. Price point was perfect. You get your moneys worth in quantity and the quality is icing on the cake.

“I've never had a good experience at this restaurant. haven't been here in years. I decided to swing in for a quick salad after my workout. I got there at 12:50 PM on a Tuesday. I was able to order right away, I didn't order a beverage. At 1:00 the couple behind me sat down, at 1:05 the couple behind me ordered. At 1:10 the couple behind me got their order(S) I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and was solo. I had other oligations going on I had to get to, I figured it wouldn't take that long for a chicken salad. As I got to the festival foods doors, The manager came out of famous Dave's and yelled, "Don't you want your food?" 😂 ....Yeah I sure did but not 40 minutes later sorry not sorry.
