Chips and salsa at the table within seconds of sitting down food out very quickly and staff walking around constantly and very attentive to every table. “Found this little, vintage gem on Yelp. In all of our 40+ years of coming up to the Northwoods as adults, we never had heard of this diner and yet it has been around since 1945 and claims to be the oldest family-run diner/cafe in Wisconsin. Once I read the history of Dixie Lunch I knew we needed to be part of the history too! It is a no frills diner but don’t let the lack of modern and new prevent you from checking out this downtown Antigo staple. The specials will draw you in and the classics will keep you coming back. My husband ordered the Tuesday Special of Jaeger Schnitzel w/mashed potatoes & gravy and red cabbage. He said it was some of the best he had ever tasted. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger and homemade fries. It was delicious! Bacon was a little thicker than most other establishments use and it was crispy, just like I like it. The burger was juicy and the combination made it one of the best I have had in a long time. We finished our lunch off by sharing a slice of homemade lemon meringue pie…oh my goodness…YUM!!! We will be back!“
