“Wonderful evening sitting in the bar area after wandering around town. Great wine suggestions and some amazing food - started with the dill/parmesan dip which was very good. For entrees the flat iron steak over a red pepper potato mash was incredible and the kind of dish that you come back for again and again. Service as always was incredibly friendly.”

“Red Apple Cafe is one of my favorite breakfast restaurants in Hartford, Wisconsin. My go to breakfast platter is the omelettes. Eggs always done to perfection. I didn't realize they were open until mid afternoon so i stopped in for lunch. The smash burgers and gyros are amazing. If you are looking for an awesome family owned cafe check out Red Apple.”

“Service was ok, friendly, but probably busy and end of the day tired. Food took a while but was freshly made.I liked the Pinsa crust a lot and the toppings were plenty. Overall it was too salty! Almost too oily but ok. I would come back to try different items. Prices are fair. The menu has plenty of options and drinks. Atmosphere is cozy.”

“Their sandwiches are absolutely phenomenal. Each one is packed generously and the flavor combinations are perfect. I've visited this restaurant close to 10 times over the past year, and each time the food tastes as good as the last. From my experience, they never serve a dud sandwich.”
“This Tropical smoothie was very clean and the staff was super nice and friendly. If I had any issues it would be the plastic that covers the straws. It is hard to get those open.”

“Excellent salads, pasta, and cocktails. The steak is great as well. My family has been here many times. Each experience was nice. This evening our server was Brie. She was knowledgeable about the menu, and she gave good recommendations. She was funny as well. It's refreshing when someone does their job well without taking themselves too seriously.”

“Oh my goodness! Where to begin? We came in for fish fry and it did not disappoint. Homemade potato pancakes, hand battered cod, and freshly made cole slaw. My husband had an old fashioned, it was huge and delicious. Also had the fresh hand battered mushrooms (they were huge!) served with house made garlic aioli. We will be back to try all the hand made goodness on the menu.”

My beet salad was scrumptious and my gorgonzola gnocchi with prosciutto was phenomenal! We will definitely be back. It's so nice to have a restaurant in Lake Country with gourmet level food. There aren't a lot of them.Parking: Plenty of parking”

“If you’re in Oconomowoc I highly recommend Whelan’s! If you’re like me and truly, truly enjoy high quality coffee then this is the go-to place! I’ve tried other coffee shops in the area and they all fell flat in comparison. From the friendly staff (Laurel and Julie), to the selection of baked goods and ice cream, to the “kick back and relax” hometown vibe, Whelan’s is truly a diamond in the rough!”

“Little diner on Main Street. You seat yourself and there isn't normally a wait. Meals are good, but not gourmet. The prices are good, and the portion sizes are on the larger size. The waitstaff are always pleasant.”

“Came in by myself for an early breakfast, sat at the bar and ordered a coffee, two eggs, hashbrown and bacon along with a pancake on the side. Everything came out really fast, and the pancake with the crispy edges flapping over the side of the plate was amazing. The prices were very reasonable as well . Will be back again.”

“We stopped into this adorable place yesterday and I’m compelled to review because I think there’s a ton of potential for this little shop and want to give some feedback. First - I love the concept and vibe of this place, and the woman working there was so incredibly welcoming and lovely. Honestly, her warmth is the reason we stayed despite noticing it was an “off day” for food. When I asked a question for the chef, she mentioned that he didn’t come in that day because it was so slow (totally fair, because it was a cold, windy day mid-week), but suggestion #1 is that if anything in the grab-and-go is even a day old, the prices should be reduced. A sandwich on soggy bread and a quinoa bowl that feel very much like what I would find as “leftovers” in my fridge at home should not cost $30. Second, please ditch the plastic. I cringed to think that these foods were sitting there leaching bpa from the plastic containers. Plus, Mother Earth just doesn’t need any more single-use plastic. This great place, with their local farmers-market mission, would do much better with compostable packaging. Finally, there’s a musty smell that hits you when you walk in the door. If I were the owner, I’d like to know this, because it’s easy to get used to a smell. I’m someone who is sensitive to environmental toxins and musty, mildewy smells set off my “mold” alarm. If the building had some flooding in the past, this is worth investigating. I got a similar smell in the gift shop a couple doors down, so this may be a building issue. Again, though, I would have turned on my heel at that point, but the atmosphere and the woman working there was incredibly kind and inviting. Also, bonus points for using healthy avocado oil on your grill and the Himalayan sea salt. Just a couple of tweaks and this place will be rocking it out of the park! As it is, we plan to return in the summer!”
“A great variety to choose from, the blueberry cheesecake shake was awesome, and staff was very friendly. What's not to love! So glad to have this so close to home!”

“I absolutely love this place. Decidedly old school without a shred of pretension. The best kind of time warp. The bartenders are routinely friendly and the canned and bottled beer selection is surprisingly good considering it's a bit off the beaten path.”

“I met an old friend at Perc's for lunch. During the week and there was plenty of room to just drop in. The menu is big, the service was fast. We never had to flag anyone for water or coffee in fact I had to stop the refills and I like coffee! We'll be back because it's hard to imagine ever getting unfavorable service they were just so well buttoned up”
