“Busy hot spot for Friday night fish. Great prices and the food is excellent. Boiled, seasoned red potatoes are my go to option. Expect to sit at the bar as the table waits are long or call ahead. Great staff - how two folks in that tiny kitchen turn out so much great food is unreal. I’m hesitant to post the review as the last thing they need is more business on Friday night.”
“To say that this place is off the beaten trail is an understatement, but Jeff has some of the best baked goods around. You can't buy on site anymore so the only places that I know of to get his stuff is 1855 Coffee House in Mazomanie and the farmers market on the square in Madison. The morning buns and muffins are top notch!”
“Vegetarian options: Not the vegetarian of the group but my friend had multiple vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: Google searches showed it to be a place with gluten free options before going but there was only one gluten free dish available (the oat breakfast bowl). So not as gluten friendly as we had been hoping for my friend with the intolerance.”
“Great food and even better specials. The service is outstanding and the atmosphere is welcoming! The bar owner is present, hardworking and treats his patrons like Family.Parking: Plenty of street parking in front and a parking lot in back.”
“Great place, great atmosphere, great good, even better service. Just completely redone on the inside. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time and show up early to have a drink at the bar before your dinner. Great spot.”
“Food was great and served timely. Salad bar was ok but we were dining late. If it wasn't for the pesky fly that kept bothering me I would say it was awesome. Rustic atmosphere. Country bar and dining. Prime rib was Huge!”
“Some of the best fresh quality food is found in this quaint little cafe. I've became addicted to the beast sandwich and the trek out here once every week or two from Madison just to fulfill the craving I get for it is 1000% worth it. It pairs especially well with the homemade tomato soup. Mouth is watering as I'm writing this now thinking about it. Great drink selection/desserts to top it all off and very nice staff”
“Cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Wish drink prices were listed. All drinks are martinis but they can make other drinks as well. Food menu is new and small. Hopefully in time they offer more. Calamari was good though a little salty and on the small side for the price. Would definitely come back when in town and if menu is expanded.”
“Hands down the best burgers & fries in town. Probably the best fries I've ever had! Dropped a star because they never answer the phone. Would order out there more often if I could call ahead and pick up.”
“Everyone is always friendly and very attentive every time I go for dinner or one of their famous Bacon Vodka Bloody Marys. Taylor and Molly run that place so well and they're both so personable and friendly even when the entire restaurant/ bar is packed they always take a moment to say hi. 5/5 stars!! love Ope Haus!!!”
“What a fun vibe in a great location w/ easy parking! They were playing great jazz tunes which actually sounded ‘live.’ Rita, our waitress was lovely— thank you Rita! All 4 of us enjoyed our drinks (I loved the Honey Martini!), salads & entrees. The special: jerk chicken pasta was perfectly seasoned and the thin crust mushroom pizza was delicious! The special rum cake was to die for!! Keep up the great work and thank you!”
“Been here a few times in the past several months. Shaun and Andrea and their workers are very informative, professional and attentive. I enjoy the flavors, the location is perfect and exactly what I need for a protein shake or tea.”
“I recently had breakfast at this place, and I'd say it was a good experience. The food was good, not exceptional, but it satisfied my morning cravings. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Overall, it's a solid choice for breakfast, but don't expect anything extraordinary.”
“Breakfast was fantastic, Heather my waitress did a fantastic job. The lady cooking made the most delicious meatlovers omelet. Can't wait to come back again and have the biscuits and gravy. I had a few questions about items on there menu, and the staff was great... highly recommended ?”
“I had a cheeseburger and waffle fries. The burger was good. But the thing to mention is that the ranch dressing was goooood!!! Waffle fries with homemade ranch! Yes!”
“Simple but generally tasty US style food. Their garlic aioli sauce is a must try! Service was fast, courteous, and the menu items are well priced. I had issues with some of the decisions on every food item but still a wonderful experience!”
“Tip of the cap to Mark & staff for having a dark, cozy, and worthwhile place in Mount Horeb with high quality ingredients while paying attention to detail on food & drinks. A pleasure to have in the neighborhood!”
“This place is fantastic. I call in every chance I can to get a coffee. Coffee is great people are great and the young lady is such a bright and friendly person. If you haven’t been there yet your missing out on a great small town Gem.”
“Really friendly staff and the food was pretty good. We've been twice now. I loved the tacos, enchiladas, and burrito. Their salsa is the best. I rated it 4 stars on food because the chimichanga wasn't fried well. Great margaritas. We will go back.”
“Best pizza I've had in a long time! Jalapeno poppers were almost 9$ and there were 5 or 6 of them in a box. They did have good spice though. The pizza, I'd go back for daily, and I'm not a big pizza fan.”
“We love this quaint little restaurant!! Friday fish fry is one of the best in the area! Breakfast is stellar too. Wish we could count on their hours of operation. Sometimes they're closed at odd times (on a Friday night, for example).”
“Nice place for kids and treats. Strictly an ice cream and dessert place, which has plenty of selections. Small selection of warm foods. No seating for 3 people besides a short short table and chairs for kids that seats 6 -10 kids. We (7 of us) actually didn’t mind the small sturdy kids chairs. The kids played with some games they have.”
“One of my favorite places in Mount Horeb. Don't miss open mic night on Thursdays. Their ciders are so good, and the food is delicious. Everything is farm-to-table, so the menu specials change frequently. I like that I know I am supporting local farmers.”
“General Tso's chicken was good but had no white meat.Orange chicken was good but again was only dark meat.Sweet and Sour chicken was delicious.Chicken fried rice is kid approved.Crab Rangoons were most cream cheese, but they were good. The hot and sour soup was good.”
“Had a nice meal with my sister here, needs a better sign to advertise it's business. It's kind of easy to miss it, with the round-about being so close to it. But they definitely have good food, at reasonable prices.Parking: Around 40 parking places, with a few handicapped spots for parking”
“There is something about eating at Culver's in Wisconsin. The food seem fresher and the employees seem genuine on service. I ordered fish and chips with a mushroom burger. The best I had since introduced.”
“It was all good until the cashier added the “secret ingredient”, he jumped up on the counter and squatted over the sandwich. He then proceeded to lay a massive türd right onto my 5 dollar footlong. He must have had fruit loops beforehand because it was very green. Even though the massive log was in my sandwich, it still was a yummy snack, now had a little corn added to it. 4/5Parking: Plenty of spots”
“From 3/17/24: Sandwiches were good and larger than I expected. But the 5 stars are really for the 2 young men working that afternoon who had way more patience with my 8 yr/o Grandson than his tired old Grandma did lol! They were super helpful - thanks!”
“This is about as good as a brew pub gets. Closest comparison is Deschutes Brewery in Portland Oregon. Excellent pub fare and remarkably good (i.e., great) beers.Don’t expect fine dining, but pub food doesn’t get much better than here. Outstanding service. We drive from Madison to trollville to enjoy ourselves here.”
“Curly’s is the best breakfast from Mt.Horeb to Dodgeville. We go almost every Sunday they serve breakfast and have never had a disappointing meal. We enjoy their special dish and pancakes(my favorite, I get every time) they change each Sunday. The food is never too greasy as bar breakfast can be. This is the only place we have gone to breakfast since we enjoyed it the first time.”
