“I always look forward to stopping in and getting a good meal. They have this cool sock display that you can pick a pair for $2. My daughter has a lot of fun with it everytime we go...Parking: Parking is right out front and only a few steps from the front door.Kid-friendliness: Harry Potter themed, tables or booths to pick from. Everybody in the restaurant has kids, knows about kids or is kid friendly people. I take mine there after dental or doctors appointments just to get their moods back on track.”

“Started coming about a year ago when the New owner came in, food was excellent, service was good. Staff changes happened for a while and tore the place apart. If you haven’t been in a while, I’d suggest coming back. The new improvements have the place Clean and welcoming, the food is back on track with the new beer batter on the fish. Chelcy, and Tess are the BEST waitress’ their help has definitely gone noticed!”

“This is a unique coffee and pastry shop in a repurposed old Rail station. Id recommend the cinnamon rolls to anyone. We also had the Bagel Bomb. Both were soft and delicious. The wait staff was very patient and nice . The interior is very spacious with plenty of seating and free WiFi. They have themed coffee and several handmade projects. So visit if you're in the area.”

“I am from Boone Iowa, up in Rice lake visiting family, and heard how amazing Maxines was. So, I had to go for breakfast. The eggs benedict was probably some of the best I have ever had. And Maxine herself stopped at our table and talk to us. It is a very welcoming, family oriented place! I will definitely eat here again!!!”

“Phills Bar is a great small town bar where I am pretty sure everyone knows each other. I am sure it's a stop for out-of-town folks to stop in for one and done, however, their food was really great. Higher quality and cooking than most small bars. Don't let the atmosphere throw you. Enjoy a great burger or their shrimp special and a nice cold one.”

“We went to the Chetek Cafe with fairly low expectations; we wanted to try something new and somewhat local.Food: I ordered the "gyro" which is by no means a gyro as it's pork. If you're willing to overlook that inaccurate name for the sandwich it is actually legitimately delicious. The meat was well seasoned, tender, and juicy. It was, to quote my husband "a surprisingly high quality of meat." It was also a fairly large size pita sandwich; I had ordered it as a basket and it was served on an actual platter-- huge.Service: Very casual vibes from staff but our waitress was super attentive; very prompt with refills. Everything you could ask for from a small town diner in terms of hospitality.Atmosphere: The building is getting on in age and the booths are small. Some seats at the counter are ripped and the color scheme of the interior is very mid 90s roadside diner, complete with taxidermied fowl in the window. If that's your thing, you're gonna love it. If you wanted more formal dining, you may feel put off.Overall the food was well above average. Go out of your way to visit this place it's a nice value for the amount of food you receive”

“We visited August 2023. Great beer selection. They had a Gose that was wonderful. No food, but there is a grilled cheese place around the corner, we picked that up and brought it in the brewery. Brewery is cozy, clean bathrooms. Easy on street parking. Don’t miss it when you’re in Rice Lake!”
