Burger Restaurants near Cottage Grove

“One name, Gary. Gary was the gentleman that took my order and the counter along with about 5 other customers during my duration of waiting for my food. Gary was the nicest person I have ever encountered while ordering food. Gary went above and beyond with each customer including myself to make each transaction personable. It was a Thursday evening and fairly busy inside and out. Gary greeted each customer with a friendly face and would take it upon himself to take something off someone’s shirt or something they were wearing to start up a conversation. One particular customer was an elderly woman and her middle age son who was mentally challenged. She approached the counter alone but Gary asked for her son to come up too and to not be afraid that he wouldn’t hurt him. Carried on a conversation with him and his mother asking his name and just being in the moment with him while they placed their order that evening. You don’t see people like Gary often enough anymore in the world and it really touched my heart on how he interacted with every person that came to his register as of each person was special in their own way. I’m not one to come inside and order and wait for my food or to take time to do surveys, but this interaction is one I will not forget. We need more people like Gary. I tried doing this on the Survey but it limited me on Characters I could use. Hope this doesn’t fall on deaf ears. Thank you“

“Ordered from the Kiosk quick but not very functional. Not able to make a credit card payment on a cashless kiosk. Never received a receipt after the kiosk told me to take my receipt to the counter to pay for my order. Waited at the counter and after a number of staff placing orders and never asking me what I needed, I was getting a little frustrated. Finally the French Fry staff member came over, found my order, printed my receipt and my order arrived finally.“

“First time dining here. Great food and atmosphere. On a side note… To a beautiful lady. You were the beautiful woman dining—maybe with your mom—at “a restaurant by the river”. We locked eyes, shared a smile, and you held the door for me as we walked out. I wanted to introduce myself but got a little nervous. When you turned around after walking away, I knew I missed my chance. If you see this, I’d love a second one.“

“For fast food the burgers were very good the fries were also very good. The quality of the food was outstanding for fast food. The price was also very good. This isn't anything gourmet but definitely worth the price. Hands down better than other fast food competitors. I really liked that there was malt vinegar available as a condiment for the fries. The menu is relatively simply which shows they are focused on doing what they do well. For what is an typical fast food hamburger joint everything ran smooth and was pleasant. If you are looking for a really good fast burger and fresh cut fries that were frozen and don't want to pay 30 plus dollars at five guys this is the place to go. I would say the food stacks up better than five guys at about half the price.“

“This was a really neat hole-in-the-wall that is connected to the neighboring bar. You order at the counter and your food is delivered to you. The menu is on the small side, but everything I tried was quite good. Not much atmosphere for itself, but the bar it is connected to has tons of wisconsin dive bar atmosphere.“

“I want to start this review saying that I sure hope the manager that's Not Steven doesn't treat the employees like he treated us. We were headed to our hotel when other hockey team members called and said they were headed to Nitty-gritty to eat. We had seen the ads at the hockey rink and turned around and were the first ones there. I walked in and Not Steven asked how many. I explained I thought about 20-25 from our team were coming. He told us that he could not accommodate all of us in one area, that he had several teams coming in that had set reservations. He told us we should have made reservations months ago and made us feel like a complete inconvenience. I had never been to Sun Prairie and wouldn't have any idea of that. We waited for our friends and eventually Steven moved us together, after Not Steven seemed to go out of his way to spread us across the whole building. I'm so glad that we did not just leave due to the way we were treated by Not Steven. Our server was Joe I believe. He was attentive and polite and did a wonderful job. Honestly all the other staff seemed happy to be there and seemed to enjoy working there. The food was fast, tasted wonderful, and was very well put together. We ordered a few different things. The nachos had great ground meat that wasn't greasy gross. The flatbread was well made. Everything else was great also. The price for the plate size was good also. It's a shame that my first and lasting impression is of how inconvenient we were to Not Steven. I do want to note that, while we were there, I never saw any part of any of the other teams there. There did seem to be a small gathering of adults at one time but no other teams. I truly hope the manager doesn't treat his amazing team the way he treated new customers. Also, Steven was wonderful and was very welcoming.“

“My husband and I stopped in to eat a bite while visiting a friend close by. I would come back here again. Us Texans are used to a steak sandwich like a chicken fried steak sandwich. This was a legit steak sandwich!!! We are super satisfied with the service and deliciousness of the food! Above and beyond! Highly recommend eating here. Delicious food and great quality! I will definitely be coming back here next time in town here. God bless this place and bless the cook! The food was delicious!!!! Not to mention we were greeted immediately. Great service!“

“We had some free ice cream tokens to use use, so we stopped in on double strawberry day. It was delicious, but they certainly have reduced the amount of ice cream they give for a single serving. The cup was less than half full amd, to be honest, looked pretty empty. I'm glad it was a free serving because we would have been disappointed to pay for it otherwise.“

“Our reception had the perfect setting at Garver. So spacious and flexible in design that every one of our ideas was doable. The staff were so creative and attentive to whatever I wanted. It can be so overwhelming trying to deside but Danelle was so good at helping to nail down our vision and make suggestions that enhanced our vision. “I wanted to recognize Will for great customer service. When I went through the drive-thru, he accidentally forgot to hand me my ice cream cone at the payment window. Instead of waiting until my food was ready or hoping I wouldn't notice, he actually ran outside to bring me my cone while I was waiting.
As he handed it to me, he noticed it had started dripping. He immediately ran back inside, grabbed some napkins, and then ran back out to make sure I had them before I left. It was such a small gesture, but it really stood out to me. He could have easily handed me the cone and walked away, but he took the extra step to make sure I wasn't stuck with a melting, messy ice cream cone. Thanks, Will!“

Conveniently located in McFarland and along a busy road US-51.
Team members are very friendly especially the cashiers.
The Butter burger and frozen custard I ordered was great in quality,taste and temperature.
The lobby/seating area/interior was very clean.
Will be back.“

I usually get a cup but the smell of freshly made waffle cones was too tempting! I don't usually get vanilla but I'm glad I did this time. We went inside only to use the bathroom; the dining room is cute.“
