Madrez Cafe Elkhorn is a hidden gem that produces some amazing dishes, offering the best brunch in Walworth county. First timers enjoyed Carmel macchiato's that were delish, and the spicy burrito had the perfect amount of spice with fresh ingredients. Homemade tortillas make for perfect crunch. The menu features Mexican influenced dishes like homemade gorditas with scrambled eggs, cheese and sausage with a Chipotle drizzle, plus Chilaquiles, veggie ciabatta, hash bacon sandwich, bacon quesadilla, and sandwich verde. A farmers skillet was exceptional, and the ham and cheese croissant was unbelievable. Try the waffles or tortas. Everything is made to order, hot 'n fresh, with locally sourced food and homemade everything else. No hormones, no sprays and chemicals. Rotating seasonal menus and rock solid coffee. You may wait a little bit, but everything is made fresh or from scratch, and is worth the wait. The wait staff is charming and approachable. Service is always excellent. The cozy dining area is a neat environment for coffee, tea, or breakfast/lunch. They also do private parties. Everyone cleaned their plates. This place earns extremely high marks.
