“Honestly, this place was better than my initial thoughts. Food was amazing. I got the cheese curd flight and their (I think) sesame blackened salmon. It was well prepared and it's presentation was amazing. The others in my group fortitude different dishes and the general consensus was that it was all great. When we got there we didn't have any reservations. At first it sounded like they only took reservations but then they told us we could sit outside. We thought that would have been the preferred seating over being inside. The wait staff was cheerful and bubbly. She was chatty abs eager to help with whatever we needed. The price for the food, I can say it was well worth it. For four people, I think our bill was $175. A bit pricey for me but glad I went. Will definitely stop again if I'm in the area.“

“Al Johnson’s is one of those Door County experiences you shouldn’t miss—but get there early! By 8:30 a.m., parties of more than four were already looking at a two-hour wait. We arrived early and were glad we did.
Even with the crowds, the operation is incredibly efficient. Tables turn quickly without making you feel rushed, and everything runs like a well-oiled machine.
Our server, Ava M., was friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving with a smile. The food was excellent—served hot, hearty, and made with quality ingredients. It’s easy to see why this place has become a Door County tradition.
Between the famous goats on the roof, outstanding service, and delicious breakfast, Al Johnson’s absolutely lives up to its reputation. We’ll definitely be back.“

“There are several Italian restaurants in Door County. And yet, once again, there I was...in the land of whitefish and walleye. Eating pasta from my very favorite place to eat pasta. I swear these people have an Italian chef being held hostage in a cooler full of perch....Creating absolutely insane pasta dishes. Like the current special which involves Green goddess sauce with pistachio and I'm pretty sure... fairy dust. Oh, and have I mentioned the cocktail creations? My latest was made with gin infused with baobob. (Oh ... and the seafood is awesome too)“

“Honestly, the only issue I had was the limited staffing which limited lunch service (understandable). If fully staffed and able to offer full lunch and dinner service, it'd be a five stars across the board, because the people that were there and the atmosphere were fantastic“

“Sunday night dinner in the Sister Bay area- we are new to the area, so went to the closest restaurant we could find. Atmosphere is a typical north woods vibe (large bar area, dark wood), but the food is a mix of American/Italian.
Companion had the spaghetti pomodoro, which came with soup or salad- the Caesar salad was very good, with homemade garlic croutons. The pasta was confusing as it contained sausage- something usually not found in pomodoro. She ate it anyway as she didnt want to make a fuss. Said it was good despite the protein.
I ordered a gluten free GOAT pizza. Dried cherries, chevre, bacon, topped with arugula and a balsamic drizzle. Not bad, but needed a little something. It could have been because GF crust isnt as flavorful as regular.
Both ordered the NA cherry fizz- delightfully flavored with tart cherry juice(when in Door county...).
Ended the meal by sharing the Gluten Free chocolate torte- delicious!
Bill came and although pricey for some pasta, pizza and no alcohol, on par for the touristy DC area.“

“Great place to spend time while traveling
across, such a warmth place.
They also have cheese which many of our friends liked it.
This place was on the way while we were roaming around the peninsula park, peaceful place to visit.
Plan your parking in road side, when we went it was heavily raining and there were many people in the place, so we had to park road side. Still a quite place to experience the drink they offer.“
