“Wow, just wow! This place is GREAT. Jackie is a delight and I wish I could have boxed her up to come home with me. She cooks, bartends, serves, and makes you feel right at home. Hospitality at its best! The food is fresh and amazing. My mom had the hash brown option and it was out of this world. She hand shreds the potatoes for the hash browns and I can't imagine a better hash brown. Dressing are home made for the salad bar. SOOO GOOD“
“We stopped in for lunch today while in the area. They have changed the name to Friendly Tavern. I ordered the bacon cheese burger and my wife ordered the California burger. The bartender also the cook did an amazing job. The beef is fresh not frozen and the bacon looked like it came directly from the meat market as well. We had two beers on tap and the food came out within 20 minutes of ordering it. We will be back to enjoy another burger in the future.“
“Classic Wi Dive Bar - former American Legion post with INCREDIBLE BREAKFASTS- We stopped in on the way back from Hertel to Balsalm Lake - popcorn was good and so were the drinks - great motorcycle or ATV stop.Parking: Both sides of the street were full of Side by sides, ATV’s, muscle cars and Harleys - very cool scene in a ghost town.“
“We had take out pizza.It was okay. I didn't like the crust or the sauce. But the toppings were fresh.And when I went in to pick it up the atmosphere looked welcoming and the other food items looked great. Next time I'm sitting in and trying a wrap.“
“I'm from Los Angeles, so these small town gems are always a treat, and a hoot. Beautiful tavern decor,, good food, the bartender can pour a Guinness. And cooks the bar food! That was a first for this city kid. If you haven't, come visit“
“Wonderful owners, great service. The burgers are huge and made with ciabatta buns. The food is mostly bar type food with some special things like Monkey Balls (deep fried mac n cheese with bacon). This is a cash only bar with an ATM available. There is a campground on the property as well with seasonal and overnight camping available. An outdoor bar is currently in the process of being built. A nice bar/restaurant/campground right on the main drag. Hard to miss if you're traveling on 35 in Wisconsin.“
