“If you want fancy, this isn't the place for you. It's a no frills type of place. Located in the middle of nowhere, but the scenery on the way there is nice. We went for their taco Thursday. It was pretty darn good. The service was super friendly, the food was good, the portions large, price was reasonable. The best part.....the pie!! Oh my!!! It was delicious!!Would recommend going! I know we will be back!“
“The service is wonderful, they are friendly and efficient. The food is phenomenal! I mean put out this world. It is well worth the drive to this little Mississippi river town. The specials are creative. Do not miss this place! The Waygu bacon burger with drunk mushrooms, carmelized onions and blue cheese drizzle is out of this world! You choose a side....I personally love the sweet potato fries. There are so many good things to eat here.“
“Moxie's is a family owned and operated bar. Moxie's has a great beer and wine selection as well as many choices of liquor. Additionally, Moxie's serves some pretty good pizza as well. This place also has a pool table, dart board, and multiple arcade games. Moxie's is in a great location as it is located on the Main Street through Guttenberg and right across the street from the Mississippi River which is a great view. If you're passing through Guttenberg make a stop in Moxie's tap, order pizza and play some games while you're there.“
“My new go to road trippin’ place in Gutenberg for a burger and brew. Bike and car cruisers take note!!!!Step into the past and enjoy every minute of a great experience at what might be the longest bar in the Midwest. Lakeside is one of the great historic ballrooms and still putting out good times and awesome hospitality.Located on the North edge of town, Lakeside is well worth the little extra effort it requires to find and get to from the tourist downtown of Gutenberg. It’s unassuming and kinda easy to overlook the bar entrance, but once you are there you will be back again.“
“Good service, great food, amazing value. Nothing showy just real good food.I was told by a friend that came from the area try this while visiting. We are so glad we did. Very much a good family restaurant. We hesitated slightly as it looked like a bit more of a bar scene, we have 2yo. There is a separate dining area on the side.“
“What a great experience. First time to visit Alabama. Athens was a convenient place to stop on the way to Florida. I looked for a local sports bar to watch Monday Night Football and the Yankees game… in Alabama. We couldn’t have felt more welcomed. The food was great bar food. The locals also love it. Mark the bartender is the most efficient restaurant employee I have ever experienced. Polite, attentive and does the job of 3or 4 employees. I recommend the pork chop sandwich with fried okra. Delicious.“
