“First off, we have been patrons of Explorium Greendale for years. We LOVE their beverages/beer. Their food has really fallen off and we just do not go often anymore. It's such a bummer because it is such a great place in our community. My fish fry was ok, but my husbands fried cod had zero seasoning to the batter. It was literally just fried batter. He is not a tartar sauce user, but in order to get any flavor he needed sauce. Just sad. Our waiter was maybe the biggest dud of a waiter I've had anywhere in awhile. He could not seem to find his smile or energy. Overall it was a disappointing evening beyond our great drinks. Such a bummer, we love this place!“

Shortrib tacos: ⭐⭐ These were fine I guess, but the meat was flavorless and the sauce was light on flavor or heat. The excess of pickled onions couldn't even overcome the lack of flavor. I just mixed the meat in with the meatballs

“Recently had lunch here after a Dr's appointment - for the first time. The prices are reasonable. It was very busy. we were seated quickly but it was a long wait to get our food. We ordered breakfast- and most of the food was good. But I had a chicken breast with my eggs and potatoes- it tasted horrible. When I spoke to the waitress about it she informed me that the restaurant marinades the chicken in pickle juice before frying. I feel like thats something you should tell people in advance.“

“Upon arrival, it was warm and welcoming. Got serviced right away and made aware of a special menu which had a lot more options. One item in particular are the wings! Prime rib sandwich is pillow soft, so flavorful and satisfying. Great garlic and herb butter seasoning on everything. I had a nasty respiratory infection a couple months prior, hadn't been able to taste much of anything for over two months... until coming here. I could taste the amazing flavor cooked into all of our items for the first time since getting sick. This was probably about the most satisfying dining experience I've ever had. “I only order the "Jalapeno Popper" from Mac's in Brookfield. Over half the time I order it they don't put in any jalapenos or they put in next to none. How hard is it to properly make this dish? It is super hard to add jalapenos to the JALAPENO popper? After the 3rd order it happened I brought it back. The manager stated, I quote, "There are jalapenos all up in there" while pointing to two small pieces in the ENTIRE DISH. Done wasting my time and money with this location that can't make a simple Mac and Cheese. Pathetic.“

Great pickles. had fries, they were great .. the best was flavor of the day custard apple struessel... that was amazing!!!!! “We really loved our experience at Highlands Cafe today. We’ve never had a bad experience or food, but today was particularly exceptional as it was the first time we brought our boys (2 years and 11 months). We had promised our 2 year old ice cream with breakfast as where we were originally going to go, they have malts. Much to our surprise they were closed, cue the toddler meltdown 🫠 Highlands cafe to save the day! No wait, they made a “special ice cream drink” right away for our 2 year old (chocolate milk with whip cream and sprinkles) and he could not have been more happy. The food was excellent to boot! “We had a lunch function at work with a total of 6 attending. Everything was great with the exception of the food quality. The food was great, I guess what I was envisioning wasn't reality. The meatballs just tasted like regular meatballs. The Baked Penne I ordered was very greasy. Grease was floating in it when it was brought to the table. One of my coworkers ordered the Steak Frites which turner out great. Overall, I would recommend going. But I would suggest the restaurant work on their lunch menu options and broaden them some.“
