“This bar reminds me of home, and the experience here is very unique. That is, the bar accommodates for the fire house next door. It's a community - where firefighters chill outside and casually converse with the bar crowds. Music plays loud enough on the patio that the entire street corner can be entertained, and there is always an open invitation to be a part of it all! One of the best experiences at this bar is when the fire truck departs for another alarm, the entire community is there to support and cheer the firefighters aboard. It's quite the event! Hosed On Brady is a blue collar joint with a massive stake in the community. That is, the bar is always a part of any community event or festivals, the bar offers meat raffles, and the bar supports the community. The staff is great and has one of the best bartenders [Ruby] on Brady Street! I definitely got hosed on Brady!“

“I had a catfish sandwich the other day and… The bread was toasted just right with butter on both sides. The onions, lettuce and tomato was perfectly crispy. And the fish was fried to perfection with a tasteful crust. I opened it up and gave it perfect sprinkles of hot sauce to top it off. First to last bite was heaven on earth.“

“This is one of the best bars in Milwaukee. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The staff and patrons are friendly and artworks from local artists are displayed. It’s got a good jukebox , games, and a great selection of beers. It’s also dog friendly, and they have Packer/Brewer parties , also FREE peanuts!“

“Very good food and service. Had the Currywurst with a 1/2 liter Light Munich Lager. Portion was not huge, but neither was the price. Walked out with a $20 bill, which was a great deal. Service was quick and fun. Had a large party and had no problem fitting us. Will definitely visit again when in town.“

“Hands down one of the best establishments in the greater Milwaukee area! The food is amazing and CHEAP, as are the drinks. The bartender is a woman of the highest class, and the patrons open and friendly. It's like a blast from the past, few places of this caliber exist anywhere in the United States. “My husband and I along with my two boys came to Milwaukee from Ellsworth, WI for a Sunday Brewers game on 9/28. We stayed at the Holiday Inn down the road from Aliota’s. The curbside appeal drew us in. The staff and the owner David immediately made us feel welcomed. The food was on point - best homemade blue cheese dressing I have ever had!! What a great little bar!! We will definitely be making this a yearly stop on our trips back to Milwaukee! Keep up the great service everyone! We were very impressed! Go Brewers!!“

“Although I have never closed Wolski’s, I have stopped in for drinks and darts and was not disappointed! However my favorite experience at Wolski’s actually happened without ever leaving my car. I drive rideshare and was picking up there. As I pulled up, I immediately noticed the bouncer arguing with some drunk college-aged guy who was clearly being denied admission. As all his friends walked past him and handed off their ID’s, the bouncer kept dealing with his mouth, but stayed calm and just kept repeating “go home”. But Kevin thought his turtleneck and sweater combo granted him access anywhere so he tried to slip past. He made it through the first door before the bouncer body slammed him and the door slowly shut behind them. The need to know what was going on behind that door overwhelmed me and I considered getting out of my car. But my thoughts were interrupted when the door swung open and the bouncer threw Kevin out like Uncle Phil did Jazzy Jeff. The best part - the bouncer looked to be in the 50+ age category. At that point, he gave up on trying to get through the bouncer, so he moved on to trying to scale the fence. When I tell you I about died when I saw his pathetic attempts to get over it, I mean he wouldn’t have stood a chance sober with a step stool. He eventually gave up on the fence and walked around to find another way in. I wanted to follow, to see what feeble attempt he would make next, but then my riders came. Just when I thought the story couldn’t get any better, they started talking about a douchebag whose friends all left him. I told them about the guy getting body slammed and they asked if he was wearing a turtleneck. I found out one of my riders was his ex-girlfriend so I of course told the story in full. My one question to her was “does he have a weird relationship with his mom?” And they all burst out laughing. Apparently he does. Shoutout to the bouncer!“

“So the review written by "Being Still", I was there with this person. The restaurant reached out to this person through Messenger, but because they blocked Being Still, there is no way to respond to them. And they took the comments off their facebook page and blocked Being Still.... nice.... Seems sneaky to not leave a honest review up for people to see the conversations, but to only have the good ones on your Facebook page. Instead of having to go look in the review section to find honest reviews.“

“Was never to Oscars before. I didn't expect that I'd be eating the greatest burger I've had in my Life. Meat was thick and juicy. Bun was clean and soft. “my family of 6 stopped in there. and being a huge soccer fan because i played all my life and coached until an illness took it all away seeing soccer on the tvs was awesome. the knowledge of the game by the staff was great. food was so delicious. “We stopped by Sunday afternoon to have lunch after dress shopping. It was myself, my 5 yr old, my mom, my Mother-in-law, 2 sisters, and my cousin. The service was friendly and fast and the food was absolutely delicious. I was pleasantly surprised in the variety of food offered and how it was different than most “bar and grill” food. “Exciting First Fish Fry Experience of Lent 2025!
Today, I finally had the chance to step into Jerseys Pub and Grill for my first official Fish Fry Lunch of Lent 2025! It's located at 4024 S Howell Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53207, and let me tell you – I’ve passed by this place countless times, but today, I finally got to experience it! What a hidden gem it turned out to be!
It all started when I met the owner, who just so happens to have a son at the same elementary school as my own. That’s when I discovered their Friday Fish Fry – a perfect addition to my Fish Fry Bucket List.
Now, let's dive into the mouthwatering menu options they offer on Fridays:
* Cod Fish Fry: Freshly cut lemon wedge, slaw, rye bread, and your choice of fries, potato wedges, or tater tots, all for $13.
* Fish Sandwich: Served with your choice of potato for $10.
* Shrimp Tacos: A flavorful delight for $9.50.
* Fish Tacos: Tasty and satisfying for $9.50.
* Shrimp Basket: Perfect for seafood lovers at $11.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the owner’s warm and friendly demeanor – she made me feel right at home. Her impeccable service really set the tone for the whole experience.
As for the food – WOW! I was served three generously-sized pieces of cod, perfectly battered with just the right amount of crispiness, yet not oily at all (huge win!). I went with the potato wedges, and they were on point – golden brown, crispy on the outside, and warm & fluffy on the inside. The slaw wasn’t the creamy type I usually prefer, but it had a delightful, crisp flavor that paired perfectly with everything else.
All in all, this was a fantastic Fish Fry Lunch that I’d definitely recommend if you’re in the area and craving something new! Another Milwaukee gem to add to your list.“
