Hunan recently moved into the same spot as Sushi Pirate in downtown La Crosse. It labels its vegan items, which is super helpful, but the food they make is not great. The veg egg roll ($4) wasn't bad with a good wrapper and non-mushy filling. The sauteed green beans ($9.25) (vegan by default) depressed me as it consisted of frozen green beans turned chewy in a flavorless sauce. I admire this venue very much. there is a friendly ambiance. The food is exeptionaly good. the service is effective and the waiters are friendly. The cost is modest. deeply recommend.
No matter what I get it is always fresh and delicious, I am very picky about meat and they always have amazing white meat chicken and lean beef, NO mystery meat or chewy bits here. I have been eating here for 30 years. Never had a bad meal. Not even once.
