“Went on a Wednesday afternoon, since I was on campus for work that day and wanted to try something new. They had the special of buffalo chicken wrap, grilled or crispy. It was SO good. I’ve been thinking of it since 😂! The had generous amounts of chicken on it, which is always nice. The service was excellent too. Definitely will be going back when I’m on campus again. 😋“

“Just want to start by saying the service at Pitcher Pub is phenomenal! From the drinks to the food and everything in between. Some of the best bar food and drinks in the Madison area! The prices are amazing compared to a lot of bars in the area. The thing that puts this bar at the top of the list for me wasn’t just the great food and bartenders but the bouncers! I would normally never consider what bar I’m going to based off of the bouncers. But Pitchers bouncers go above and beyond. The bouncer offering to walk me to my car at bar time. I was walking out alone and he walked out behind me and said let me walk you to your car. He didn’t come all the way to my car he stayed an appropriate distance for me to feel safe and waited till I was in my car to walk back into the bar. It’s not often you can leave a bar at bar time alone as a woman and feel safe.“

“Our wedding at the union was fantastic! Sam Mack (venue coordinator) was a great communicator and all of the Union Staff was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the planning process and day-of. We had our ceremony in Tripp Commons and our cocktail hour and reception in Great Hall. The food was good (not the best I've ever had, but also not the worst), the cocktails and drinks were great, and it was so nice not having to make a million different decisions. They really guide you through the process which was exactly what we were looking for. The Union has done hundreds of weddings and it really shows. The whole day went very smoothly and the price was right! Would highly recommend, especially for UW grads!“

“College visit with the daughter and we dined here with friends on Saturday 28th Sept and being originally from the UK, and seeing the fish and chips were haddock (not cod) I immediately had to have them and they were the best fish and chips this side of the “pond” having put up with 12 years of “just ok” fish and chips, these were amazing. Not only were the fish and chips good, but every dish was a winner. I am now praying my daughter gets into the college as I will be a regular here.“

“My group of about 14 people came for the fish fryI I had the walleye deep fried with sweet potato fries. they were great the brandy old fashion which was all great. Service excellent. It was somewhat loud but bars a always loud“

“I usually love bear and bottle but my food and service were just bad today I’ve had this server before and they just aren’t attentive Had to go to bar for my second drink Normally food is very good but taco dip has huge chunks of cream cheese Server left my food at edge of table for more that fifteen minutes which attracted flies I love the open air aspect of this spot bit of your food is left for that long…. Flies come to you. I will only eat at the bar from now on. Bar service is amazing“

“They didn’t have the vodka brand that I prefer (popov) and they don’t put enough cola in their Long Island ice teas. Other than that the staff is attractive enough to warrant the 5 star review. John looks much younger than he appears to be. He is helpful despite his obvious mental deficiencies.“
