“Lots of tables. Half are sit down, half are bar height. Multiple TVs on every wall. Plenty of beers on tap, covering the spectrum from big name to craft. Came here for the fish. They have 2 or 3 piece cod. Cod is planks, batter is fairly light. Seemed a bit dry. Good tartar sauce. Battered fries were good. Coleslaw was creamy and good. 3 piece cod and soda ruined a $20 bill, but that is normal, now. Service was friendly and quick.“
“Bustling area of Madison with great service and excellent food. This place has charm of an old Wisconsin tavern, love the new cozy space added inside. The brunch menu, Pastrami Hash, chef's kiss! Enjoy having the self service station for water/coffee.“
“It was my first time eating at Blue Moon. I should’ve gotten a burger but I ended up getting the California Rueben with waffle fries. Both were very good! I will need to try a burger next time. We went for lunch on Fish Fry Friday, which was obviously pretty busy. Place was packed!“
“Coming in at 8pm on Friday was the perfect time. Appetizers are around 6$ each (x3). dinners less than 15$ each (x2). And 4 cans of beer the bill wasn't even 60$. I'm impressed and would gladly come back. The fish fry was excellent, shrimp was excellent. And the coleslaw paired well to the fish! I walked out full and happy.Parking: The lot fits the needs of the bar.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs“
“This place has wonderful food and great drinks. Service was reasonably prompt and pleasant, food was delicious, drinks equally great. My only downside is expectations. When your times state 10:30 close, I expect 10:30 close. Instead, at 9:50 our table was told “We’re closing, but no rush, are you ready for the check?” This indeed insinuates that we should head out now. 40 min earlier than the advertised close. While finishing our drinks, all table’s chairs were being placed on the tables, a clear indication of closing. All tables chairs were on the tables except ours by 10pm. I totally understand a slow night, but as a manger, one should set expectations for customers regardless of current customer level. Instead they should set time for 10pm if this indeed is their existing typical closing time. Set a time, and stick to it. Again, food was delicious, from burger to cheese curds, it was all great. Please reevaluate your timings to align with your expectations. Nonetheless, thank you for the evening.“
“Friday Night Fish Fry Wife did not want battered fish and they have excellent alternate. She got the salmon and salad and looking at the menu- what did I see but mussels. These are some of the best I have had since being out on the East Coast. The potatoes in with the mussels with an extra surprise. Great service“
“Really good atmosphere, super kind staff. The jam pretzel burger special was fire. Square cheese curds, strange shape, very tasty. I would definitely come back to this spot. They served an adequately liquored up drink and did it with a smile. I may have found my new "local" as they say out in the Midwest. ALL good here.“
“THE BEST fish fry I have ever had!The fish is superb. Three of five of us had a more than ample serving of the walleye, baked potato & cole slaw & all agreed it was great. The Friday night atmosphere is CROWDED, busy & the cacophony such that conversation is impossible. The prices are reasonable. The bartender is aloof, difficult to flag down & challenged by a simple register transaction. The cook is non-stop busy with all of the orders. The server is very cordial under the high-pressure atmosphere, so kudos to her! Overall, pretty good experience & the fish - to die for!FISH: *recommended! *Parking: Few spots in the lot.“
“Stopped after a game in hopes to find a little less crowded place vs. the bars near the Kohl center, good choice! Has that dive bar vibe, loved it! The service was great and the crowd was friendly. The food looked great but we didn't eat this time. They cook everything in the open right behind the bar. Decent amount of TV's for game watching, pool table, darts, gambling machines and a couple other bar games throughout. Would definitely stop again when in town:“
“I was visiting from Milwaukee and came here with a friend. It was one of few establishments open at the time in East Madison. The bartender was super friendly and made a great Old Fashioned. He gave some history of the building as well as a free drink chip for the next time I'm in town. I would definitely patron this place again!“
“I like the place a lot. I've been there in the evening before but never for brunch. My potatoes were wildly overcooked, but the breakfast burrito was delicious. We waited a LONG time after we got our food for our server to return, but he never did until I called out to him. As if we'd disappeared. So that was weird and a little irritating.“
“If you love sports and have kids, this is a great place to eat and have the kids entertained. They have a basketball gym I believe is for booking, so lots for the kids to do. Food is great and beer selection is nice as well. Service is always on point and the radio always has good music playing. Never too loud or too low. Always the biggest hits.“
“Jonathan was an incredible server!!! He split the bill for me and all my friends, was super kind and accommodating, and made sure we were all taken care of. Not only that, but his service was incredibly fast when he was taking all of the tables himself!! We would come back just for him!“
“Everything about Tipsy Cow is amazing! The food, service, and atmosphere is wonderful! We got the goat cheese curds and OMG they were so delicious! And my family all got the cheeseburger, it was so delicious as well! All the food tasted so fresh, especially the cheddar on the burger. They have a bar, and a dining room. We sat in the dining room, and it had a lovely cozy vibe. Our server was very nice, and we got our food very quickly! We’ll definitely be coming here next time we’re visiting Madison! Highly recommend!!Kid-friendliness: They have a dining room, as well as a kids menu, with a great burger!“
“Nice neighborhood bar that serves very good food. Had chili and a quesadilla. Sorry no pictures. If you enjoy music from the 70s you will find this place comfy. My only suggestion is they could use at least some chairs with backs for those of us that can tolerate stools for only so long.“
“The Tiki is a great place to have a drink and watch the sunset over Lake Monona. It's a beautiful lakefront property, like a big back yard. The bar is full service. Food is available, usually on Friday and weekends. Military fundraiser, burgers, brats are there, sometimes a food cart. They also have occasional live music. A schedule is available online. Very low key atmosphere. A nice summertime place to go.“
“I had the fish fry with chili and coleslaw. The fish was by far the best part. The coleslaw and chili were ok, but not memorable. The fish was good. I would not go back just for the fish, though. It was surprisingly loud even though there was not a local game on. The pool table needed more room to play, so tables were pushed out of the way, making them unavailable to use.“
“Fun country bar between Oregon and Evansville. I've been coming here for over 5 years now with my boyfriend, he's been going there for way longer and knows a decent amount of the people that come in. On Wednesday nights he shoots pool on the White Rock team during pool season, they just won again. Dave is the current owner, he keeps his bar clean and well stocked, often mingles with his customers. I come out usually on some Wednesday nights and sometimes every other weekend as we are friends with the bartender Kassandra. Wednesday nights the bar is usually hopping with the regulars and the pool team, some of them enjoying the gambling machines. Weekends you can find a younger crowd all hanging around having a good time, shooting pool or playing darts. If you come by often enough you will quickly fall in love with that neighborhood bar feel.“
“Palette provides exquisite dining in an unpresumptuous atmosphere. The menu is thoughtfully crafted, with offerings to please even those with the most discriminating tastes. And the seasonally crafted cocktails are, simply put, masterpieces of mixology...alcoholic works of art, if you will! Don't pass up the opportunity to imbibe one, or several if you have someone to drive you home.“
“I suppose I should state that hipster stuff annoys me a bit, so yeah... probably should take my review with a grain of salt.None the less, I've had the Bob's Bad Breath burger several times here. Wasn't the greatest this past time. Dry. Not super flavorful.Salad was really good.Staff was doing exactly what they do. Being hipsters, but serving food with a smile and helpful.“
“Probably the best buffalo wings you can get in the mid west. This is not a large establishment, you might have to eat at the bar or take your food to go but trust me coming here for an order of their original wings is worth it. They the original wings down with a dry rub of their making and then douse them in their home made buffalo sauce so I hope you are okay with a messy meal. This is also a legitimate dive bar, and take orders at the bar so do not expect some fancy table service. So 10/10 recommend you try these wings, you will not regret the experience.Kid-friendliness: Dive bar, not meant for kids.“

“Tuesday Taco lunch is a deal.Parking: Easy parking with overflow into other nearby lots especially after regular business hoursWheelchair accessibility: The entrance is easy for wheelchairs. Only one foldout table for wheelchair. Otherwise all seating is bat height.“
“First experienced the Rigby for Drag Bingo this month and had a blast! Pretty reasonable prices for a place in the capitol area. The french fries are unmatched and the employees were super friendly! We met the manager as well, who made a point to come up and introduce ourselves since she didn’t recognize us.We’ll definitely be back for more of their many events in the future!“
“Lots has already been said about this place, but a couple things that I haven't seen as much--1. It is very dark in the dining room and the bulbs are pink/red. Like, I wanted a good look at my burger after I cut it in half to check out the toppings, and I had to turn on my phone's flashlight.2. The menu says that all burgers are cooked to medium unless specified otherwise, but mine arrived with no pink.3. There aren't any seating options that aren't barrel style chairs or booths. The barstools are the same as the chairs, just higher. It's good! I'll go back when I'm in the neighborhood at an off peak time.“
“This was a great sports bar to watch the Packers game, drink some beer and have food. The bartender was fast and he was always aware of the customers. The food was great also! Highly recommend the Hawk’s burger and cheese curds. Overall was a great experience for my first time to Madison!“
“we recently attended the graduation viewing party at the Sconniebar. The staff went above and beyond to make this experience special for us, I couldn't have asked for more and even had shots ready for our graduate and her friends after. Thanks everyone for making the graduation experience an outstanding one for us. Will definitely be back to try some Old Fashions!!!!“
“Visiting from Chicago , camping at Lake Kegonsa. We were searching for a place to have dinner. Saw Tailgaters( bar and grill) on Google and decided to give it a try! The food was absolutely fantastic. The fries are cut and cooked fresh for each order, I highly recommend the Patty Melt and my husband said his burger was the best he has had in years! The cook came around and spoke to the patrons, he was very friendly and knowledgeable about Lakes in the area. There were people of all ages there , eating , playing pool and visiting. We give it 5 stars!!!“
“My girlfriend and I went to get some food at Wahlburgers and ordering was fast. No line. I had my food surprisingly fast but she had to wait for quite a while. Turns out it was a mix up in the kitchen. It really wasn't a big issue but they comped her meal and upgraded it for free. The cook came out and apologized for the mistake. The food was very good and worth the wait. I told them it was no big deal and we will be coming back for sure !!Parking: They have a good size parking lot. Lots of spaces.Wheelchair accessibility: Seemed to be fully wheel chair accessible.“
“This is a fairly large bar with 18 seats, and 12 tables, located in the Edgewater Hotel. It's sister restaurant, the Statehouse, is a high end eatery with fabulous views of Lake Mendota.Augie's was named after long time owner of the hotel, who was jovial and friendly with patrons. I found this spot, certainly the bar, still seating talkative and genuine friendly folks. We came here on Thanksgiving Day, and enjoyed local brews (Spotted Cow) and a tasty Bloody Mary. PIC had the turkey dinner, and at $26, was a big MEH. It was all dark meat that was fatty, semi-good mashed potatoes and dressing and sprouts. Pumpkin pie was likely frozen. However, I had their Augie's burger, and at $18, it was a steal!! Two smashed patties, smokey strips of bacon, cheese, lettuce, REAL tomato, onions and drippy-but-yum aioli and crispy hand cut fries- I finished that baby off with pleasure!Patrons at the bar included locals and hotel guests, who clued us in to their Friday fish fry. Unfortunately, it was Thursday, so no dice. But... the fry includes marble rye, coleslaw, fries, tartar sauce, and cod for $18. And, there's a kid-size fish fry for $9. (I think they also have perch, for an up charge.)Both bartenders were very kind and efficient, especially for having to work on a holiday. There is free street parking a block away, or underground parking for a charge.Augie's is two blocks from the Capitol Building, and has large picture windows, looking out into the neighborhood. The upscale Statehouse restaurant is adjacent, with water views, but if you are looking for something more casual, Augie's is the spot!Side note... they had Clock Shadow fried cheese curds and eight different beers, all from WI local businesses.“
“We love it. Me & my Pop's. Out of edgerton, we plan a stop at Dutch Mill whenever we're in Madison. In addition, we make our Dutch Mill a destination for pool tournaments. Great food. People are our type of peeps. Welcoming & fun. They are the whole B.O.W. (ball of wax)“
“Sunday morning breakfast of Walleye and egg with hash browns (cheese and onion optional). Self - biscuit and gravy as just had walleye couple nights before. This has to be the most sausage in the gravy as I have ever had. Bloody is great and you can get it as spicy as you want. Great selection of craft beer for a chaser. Service was outstanding.“
“It was super crowded (always is on a Friday night), but that is because they're so popular! The food was delicious, and the wait staff was all really friendly.Kid-friendliness: The food was quick to arrive even on their busiest night which I really appreciated with kids in tow.“
“Once you stumble into this hole in the all...you may never return. There is a diamond so bright in this place. Your shoes might stick a bit to the floor but embrace the vibe. They have some awesome ambiance and sling drinks even the stiffest of barflys will live!“
“I went to the Echo Tap over the weekend because I had a craving for a burger. I didn’t know that there was a hockey game that night so it was quite busy but our server was very nice and accommodating despite how many tables he had. But the burger I had… it was the BEST burger I’ve had in a long long time! It was cooked perfectly and the flavors were perfect. Highly highly recommend!!“
“I couldn't decide between a couple of items and asked the server for his recommendation. He suggested I go for the HQ sandwich- a mix of pulled pork and brisket with BBQ sauce and cole slaw on a grilled Telera roll. I'm so glad I listened because it was fantastic. I chose potato chips as my side and they were also a wise choice. I was just visiting Stoughton for a day so won't be able to return to Deak's often but it will be at the top of my list for the next time I'm in the area.“
“Was a nice and quiet place. Some arcade, pool and other games to have fun enjoying good drinks and beers. I didn’t try food so I can’t say anything about that, it was a quick visit having some beers and playing pool. Something is little hard to find is the main door, they should fix that for providing a better way to find the place.“
“Ordered the fish and chips p s and a diet coke for $8.00. Hard to beat that. Fish was good. Fries were standard and there was more than I could eat. Service was great. Bar was quiet enough to work on my crossword puzzle. Friendly locals at the bar.“
“A small town bar and grill that feels like home to me. I had not been there for a few years and unfortunately the owner had past away since. His family is giving it a go. Burger was as good as I remembered. Apparently the same recipe that has been used for 40 years.“
“Friday fish fry. Dining was not busy at all. Weather with light snow may have had something to do with it but bar area was crowded. Four of us and drink orders were place right after seating but drinks were slow to arrive. Orders place with two ordering walleye with baked and two with cod and hash browns. Food served rather timely All the fish was very good but my hash browns were cold (butter would not even melt) while the other hash browns were hot along with the baked potatoes. Waitress must have been busy in the bar area as we did not see her till the bill arrived.“
“Found this place when searching for dinner and everywhere we went on Atwood was packed to the brim and had an hour wait. Found a spot at the bar and all the staff was very nice and attentive. They were still busy but got our order in right away and took about 25 min for food which they did preface before we ordered. Honestly one of the best burgers I've had ever. The tots were crunchy and just how I like them! Will definitely be back!“
“I was expecting mediocre hotel restaurant food, but was pretty impressed. I had the smothered chicken and it was a huge portion and was delicious! Their tomato soup and cheese curds are pretty good as well. Great beer selection and friendly bar tenders too... Would definitely eat here again!“
“Part of a private event. The room, food, and bar service was awesome. The availability to rent the golf simulators long with the room was a great activity. Lots of run to spread out. Also nice that at the end of our time we weren't shoed out of the room, it just reverted back to a public space with no personal bar “
“I ordered the Mahi Fish Tacos. Each order includes three tacos featuring citrus-marinated Mahi Mahi, chipotle aioli, salsa verde, and crisp nappa cabbage, all nestled in soft corn tortillas and served with a side of fries. The tacos were simply divine, bursting with freshness and flavor. The Mahi Mahi was exceptionally fresh and delicious. While The Boathouse was charming on the day of my visit, it undoubtedly shines even brighter in the summer, with its picturesque views of the lake.“
“My wife and I have wanted to try it for awhile. We went there with our daughter and Mom last Friday. The place was bigger and better than we thought. The atmosphere was great. You could go there for a quiet intimate dinner to a family affair. The food was great with a wide variety. We each ordered something different and loved our dishes. My 17 year old daughter is picky and she loved it. We recommend the Chicken Parmesan and the pizzas.“
“Still one of my favorite dive bars in Wisconsin. Had a pretty good burger this time too. Got to pet a couple of good dogs and was able to enjoy a pair of reasonably priced beers. Glad to see some things have stayed awesome since I left this beautiful town.“
“This nondescript place from the outside that I had never noticed, right on E Wash, was surprisingly quiet on a Friday night. I came for some Friday night fish fry with friends before we headed to a show. Fries are nice and crispy, 2 big pieces of cod. I'm not quite sure what the seasoning for the fish fry batter is or how I feel about it, but it's worth a visit (and a break from a packed Friday night restaurant).“
“This was my first time ordering and eating this food because I wanted to try Catfish. This was great experience on the phone a gentlemen name Kyle I believe. I may have got the name wrong but he was professional, polite and detailed. He was new but made sure my order was received and a ETA when the order was finished prior to getting off the phone. When I arrived I was Pleasantly greeted by a Pretty Lady and the Gentlemen that I talked on the phone. I waited only a few minutes and the order was hot off the grill. I was pleasantly surprised with the food and will come back. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get my Kings Hawaiian roll but the main entre with the Mash & Gravy made me forget about it. I will back again. Keep up the great work!Parking: Parking in front of building.“
“We sent a fraternity group to a private event on the top floor. Bobbie Jo was very easy to work with, the pricing was fair, and the group absolutely loved it. Great place for a private event, the dj got good reviews, as did the food and drinks, and there was plenty of space for the group. I'd 100% work with them again.“
“A neighborhood bar with good bar food and warm atmosphere. My chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked as was my wife's burger. Fries are either seasoned or not. I got seasoned and they were just right. Parking out back or on the street. My only complaint was the menu was on the wall behind the bar and hard to read.“
