If you appreciate history and the beauty of old stonework, you have to visit this supper club/bar. We went last night with my family to celebrate our anniversary. Perhaps a late reservation time wasn't the best idea as the prime rib was gone, in other words, it must have been good. Lovely staff, plenty of seating, so charming how it was decorated in a simple, yet engaging style. My family thoroughly enjoyed their entrees. We stumbled on to 1847 on a whim from a google search. It turns out that this is the best restaurant we have visited in the area. Great service, great atmosphere and great food!
Excellent crab cakes, the arugula was dressed in the most delicious vinegrette, and the berneaise was to die for, but some of the potato wedges were overbaked and chewy. The prime rib was delicious but a little lukewarm in temperature. Service was friendly but we received our meals and had to wait a few minutes staring at them before receiving silverware. Also we weren't asked at the end of the meal how everything was. I love the outdoor patio but my chair was wobbly.
