I went there, I was starving and early for a meeting. Ordered, sat at the window for a while. Was sitting there, started reading the signage on the drive thru window...while wondering what was taking so long for veggie lo mein. When I got my food, I noticed they didn't give me a receipt. I scan my receipts into the fetch app for points. So I looked in my bag, no receipt. There is a sign on their drive thru window that says you get 5.00 if they don't give you a receipt. Based on recent reviews, Hong Kong Express 香港快運 | Drive-Thru & Restaurant offers some of the best food in the city of Milwaukee, though experiences vary. The food is kept fresh, and the employees are always friendly. Some dishes are recommended, while others need improvement. For example, the egg foo young was decent with good gravy, and the shrimp egg foo young is available. However, the Chinese chicken was confusing, ending up as bourbon chicken with a receipt reading "Hong Chinese Chicken." The bbq ribs were dry, and the chicken fried rice was also dry. The sesame chicken is full of sauce and mushy, not appetizing. A recent order of steak with bell peppers and onions was 85% onions. The rice lacks character with no green onion or sprouts. There can be a long wait because they are extremely busy, but there is plenty of seating and a TV to watch. It is mostly a to-go place with no cleanliness issues.
