Real Chili | E Wells St at Cathedral Square is a solid place and the only game in town after midnight. Excellent service is available even at 1130pm on Thursday. The lady behind the counter is personable, talkative, and proactive, going out of her way to refill drinks without being asked. She kept customers company while handling a young female customer who was a bit verbally aggressive. Another reviewer noted the guys working were real cool, allowing a customer to sit and be warm on a frigid morning, offering 5star service. Great chili beans and noodles are a highlight, and recommendations from the server like the chili vinegar really make the meal perfect. The chili dog is pretty impressive. Hotdogs are fine, including the Chicago style with all the fixings. One loyal customer has been going since the 1960’s, eating there 2 days in a row, with a record of six days in a row. The music can be a bit loud, but it does not hinder enjoyment. A bowl of RealChili would be the last supper request.
