7 Best Pizza Restaurants near Monticello

“As many of you may know I am an Extreamly Picky Eater. (because I love food and spent over 35 years in the food industry. While in Monticello pet sitting we I remembered seeing a sign in the windows of Jave Lava on Main street the week before announcing JonnyO's Pizzeria was now sharing their location after 4pm offering pizza along with varied weekly specials. Gyros was on for Thursday nite special and having planted that seed in my brain I thought I give them a go. We found their website and proceeded to order 2 Gyros and fries online for pickup. Now, I must say and I dont say this lightly. Jonny O's Pizzeria Gyro's are the best Gyros I've found in all of Green County Wisconsin. I live in this area since 2000. I was happily surprised and delighted.The meat was excellent, not that chopped and perfectly formed slice that so many places use. No, it was like the kind you'd get in Madison at Parthenon's on State street 20 years ago. Tasted like the meat was roasted on a slab like in Madison. The tomatoes were a perfect size, not to big, not to small, not mushie or slimy, the onions, even tho they were purple and not the traditional white onion as I am accustomed to, they were the correct size, fresh and crunchy. The sauce was on the side and it was thick and creamy, (just as a great Gyros sauce should be)My hats off to you on the excellent gyro sauce, wow! What a fantastic surprise. Great Gyros in Monticello. AWESOME FOR ALL OF US!So, I had to tell all of you to give em try, if the pizza is even close to the quality of their Gyro, Monticello just hit the jackpot on the takeout scene.I will return, looking forward to your pizza and many more tasty Gyros from Jonny O's Pizzeria located inside the Java Lave Cafe on Main Street in downtown Monticello, WI. “All of the food that I have tried on takeout such as pizza and Italian beef sandwiches are outstanding. I am sure, without a doubt, all of their dishes are excellent. Also the portions are large. I would definitely recommend Vince’s to anyone. You will not be disappointed. Also the staff is great.Wheelchair accessibility: You park right in front.“

“Low key tavern with basic but good food selection and nice beer list. Our group had a few sandwiches which were simple but really filling and tasty. We used our tokens from New Glarus to enjoy a beer. Service was fast and friendly.Vegetarian options: Pretty much just a tuna sandwich if you eat fish. It was tasty.“

“Sorry, I did not intend to leave a review and must have hit 1 star on accident. The food was fine but but I'm pretty sure the waiter forgot to put in our order. It took over an hour to get our pizza and we never got our appetizer. He was nice though.“

“The pizza and pulled pork nachos were delicious once we got everything. The bartender was not great. If I came back and saw her there they next time I would leave. She was rude and not friendly at all. She accidentally dropped our pizza, which took 45 minutes to get, and then she brought us another person's pizza the next time third time we got our pizza, and it was excellent.“

“We just had a great experience at Jonny O's: We preordered 6 pizzas the day before for our sons birthday party. We had less people than we thought so we reduced it down to three, which they did no problem. But it turns out we had more people after all so we had to make another order of two more pizzas and an extra delivery. They accommodated all of our changes no questions asked, and they even threw in a sixth pizza free, seriously. We're really impressed how helpful and patient they were. thanks!“
