“We were looking for a bakery on Father's day and we found Bishop's Sweets. The banana cream pie, banana pudding and peach cobbler were amazing and brought back memories for my husband. It was a blessing to find Bishop's Sweets and meet Shane. His story is inspirational and we will definitely be back to try more. The lady on the phone wasn’t very nice and told me I had to order online then put me on hold forever. So I hung up and called National Bakery. Boy am I glad I did. “My favorite steak in town…. “Steak au Poivre” can be found at this great French restaurant (French not not haughty) in Wauwatosa. Favorite steak as it tastes great, and presented well. Sliced on an angle and sauced with a red wine black peppercorn reduction, it has just enough char on the outside to balance the medium rare I love inside. Along with taste, I love that it comes with my fav vegetables-haricot vertes and absolutely perfect French fries! So unlike popular steak restaurants, at LaReve you get more than just meat for the list price! Yum + Yay! The desserts? They are as gorgeous as they are delicious! The case is filled with sweet perfection, each one more beautiful than the next! Just so hard to pick which on.! And the macrons are iconic-crisp outside and soft chewy inside, take a few home with you! But what a treat to find a Kir Royale on the menu last night at dinner before a show! I’m sure it’s a direct effect of Emily in Paris Season 3, but maybe I just never noticed it on the menu before! I served these for Christmas ten years ago and when I saw Emily working on an ad campaign, I just knew they’d start to show up on menus soon. Lucky me! Bon Appetite! This place is great for a girls lunch or business lunch, A friends dinner or date night!“

“We used Periwinkle's Bakery for the dessert bar at our wedding on 9.9.2023 and I can say their desserts are a crowd pleaser!! Everyone loved the desserts and I loved how they cut them into half pieces rather than the whole piece. We had roughly 150 guests and we ordered 5 large platters and ended up with one extra platter by the end of the night so it worked out perfectly!“

“okay i’ve gone to a couple different locations and i love love love their coffee and what they stand for as a business. this spot had a lot of nice seating and was super chill.

this time i decided to get a matcha latte with almond milk. at first glance the matcha isn’t super fresh and green, and it’s also not super mixed in - there were chunks of matcha in there. for the quality and price of $7 i would not say it’s worth it. overall i would say the matcha was just okay, but would go back for coffee anytime!“
