“Been to Rochester Deli many times over the years, mostly for their fish fries. This visit was specifically for bakery items, and that is when I learned that I have apparently been enjoying Periwinkle desserts all along. Their production facility is next door, but the baked goods are sold through Rochester Deli. I also learned that the deli owner’s daughter runs the bakery.

I came in hoping to pick up a few cupcakes and possibly a small round cake. There was only one cupcake option available, a Boston Cream, which did look good. Unfortunately, there were no cakes available, so I struck out there. I did grab a couple of the peanut butter cookies half dipped in chocolate, which are always a hit at my house.

The staff member who helped me apologized for the limited selection, but there was not much they could do.

Overall, I really enjoy their cookies, bars, and cake slices, and I will definitely be back for some of their regular items.“

“FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE! We came very late in the afternoon and their famous bakery was sold out. I was bummed, but no worries. Decided to grab a biscoff mochi donut and some boba. They have 9 or so fountains with different tea flavors and lots of popping and chewy boba options to add (think boba buffet). We couldn't believe how good it was. We left and went to the nearby damn to get pics and decided to double back. We got more boba and were surprised with an off menu donut. Not sure what the name will be, but it had a sweet crispy shell, with a cream and raspberry filling. Would absolutely order this donut next time. The staff was so very sweet and the cafe is decorated very nicely. New favorite spot.“

“I've been coming to Rochester Deli for many years. In the past, it was usually for their Friday Fish Fry. I especially enjoy the Baked Walleye. They also make excellent potato pancakes, and whenever I ask for them extra crispy, they're always happy to accommodate.

Lately, though, I've been stopping in just for the bakery items, which are made next door at Periwinkle Bakery.

This time, I was putting together a dessert tray for a dinner with friends, so I decided to pick up a variety of treats. They had so many tempting choices that day. We came in planning to buy four desserts and left with eight!

We especially love the cannolis. They regularly change the flavors, which keeps us coming back. They're so good!“
