“My friend, Margaret, introduced me to Hillside. Great place to meet and catch up with friends and family. We went for the delicious, specialty coffee, but were more than tempted to see the yummy pastries available. They also have homemade breakfast sandwiches for sale. Staff has always been more than accommodating whether they're at the counter or as Barista. Also, look forward to their Cinnamon Rolls available only on Sundays. Rose, the owner, and former baker, has hit a home run with this place. She's sweet as a peach and her shop is very warm and welcoming. You'll find beautiful, hand crafted and delicate pastries to go with your fabulous coffee. Love this place and hope it's part of Oak Creek for a long time to come.“

“I was taken there at the suggestion of my client and had a terrific lunch. My omelet was delicious and filled with veggies, my American fries were crispy but not burnt, and my toast was just tasty. I definitely will be returning. Our service was excellent, friendly and attentive. The entire restaurant was very clean. I was so thrilled to be supporting a locally owned business. I would recommend Market Place Cafe to anyone who enjoys breakfast anytime and flavor filled, diner food.“

“We ordered ribs and they were fall off the bone tender and coated in a sweet BBQ sauce. The sides of grilled green beans and baked potato really made it come together. Great food good prices and a big menu to explore more. So many diners now close at 3:00 thanks for staying open for dinner.“

“I work right next door and have been coming to this location for several years now on my lunch breaks or after a shift. The staff is always super friendly- ESPECIALLY the night shift :) I've often seen customers giving these workers a hard time for things usually out of their control so just a reminder to be kind and patient with fast food/industry workers. Anytime there's been a mistake with my order (people are human, honest mistakes happen) they're always more than willing to correct it.

The holiday season gets busy and sometimes the wait can be longer during dinner rushes, but Panera themselves will usually send an extra coupon to make up for the longer wait.

The food itself is always great and always hot, especially their soups. The portion sizes of meat on the sandwiches is definitely slim, but it is a chain corporation after all. Same with the pricing. I come here daily on my own due to convenience of it being next door, but it IS pricey. Everything in the world is increasing in price, and Panera has never been cheap to begin with. I've pretty much been living off of the pick two for the past few years, LOL 😅 I wish the Panera rewards system (company wise) generated rewards faster vs the pace they currently do. I'll spend at least $100 here every few weeks on lunches and I'll get a reward for $2 off after 4 or 5 visits, after spending at least $50 🫠 Nothing ever free. My lunch order is never less than $10 a day. Those are complaints for a corporate level, but this location itself is great. Most staff I see on the night shift are teenagers just trying to hustle like the rest of us.

The sip club is definitely worth it for me. I get at least one $4 drink a day for $15 a month. During the winter, their Mochas hit different. ☕️ For me, the sip club easily pays for itself. I really like the items they rotate in for the fall/winter season each year- especially the chili and baked potato soup 🥔🧀🔥

All in all, this is a great place to grab a bite. Everyone will find their own pros and cons, just like any other restaurant. Spend your money where you think it's worth spending! For me, Panera never misses, largely in part due to my soup addiction, the sip club, and the hard-working staff I see each day 💚😝🥖“

“We visited for the first time today and this is an amazing place!! Our server Chad was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious!!! I was skeptical because we came close to closing time but the food came out fast looking picture perfect and tasted out of this world!! Ordering was easy, communication was open & our order was beyond perfect. We ordered the biggest breakfast charcuterie board which was a huge hit with all the varieties of baked goods, & fun layout. The variety of mini quiches were delicious & the perfect portion sizes for a buffet style brunch. Also easy to serve. Cheesy potatoes & the French toast bake were so good I wish I ordered more for leftovers. Not a crumb was left behind. We will absolutely be going to & catering with Green Baked Goods again. 10/10 recommend this family owned business. “Went there to use the bathroom while waiting on the bus. First of all, the posters in the bathroom are updated it seems-- the one I saw was for a picnic later in the month. There's also a live plant. I decided to order something, despite never being there before. Staff looked happy to work there and have me as a customer, which I think a few restaurants can learn from. I got a toffee cookie and a chai latte (be sure to add your own sugar if you like your chai sweet!!). The cookies are huge btw. Biggest one I've had that wasn't considered a cookie cake.

“Anodyne ended up being the perfect wedding venue for us. The rustic meets modern downtown coffee shop vibes were just what we were looking for. Let me tell you, this place is nice during the day, but at night this place comes alive with the string lights, moody mirrors, and classic radio wall. My husband and I took moments throughout the night to just around and admire the dreaminess of the venue. We received so many compliments about the bartenders and the venue coordinator Erica. The bartenders were super friendly and fast, and one of them even told us at the end of the night how much fun they had too! Erica was AMAZING to work with throughout the year and a half of planning. From the very first email to the last goodbye at the end of the wedding, she was the reason that everything ran so smoothly. We had multiple meetings with her leading up to the wedding, and she was helpful and accommodating every time. She told us that her goal was for us to enjoy our day and not sweat the small things, and that's exactly what she did! We held the ceremony and the reception there, and the transition after the ceremony was seamless and took less than ten minutes. Erica and her staff also set up all of our decor. We left the decor with her the day before the wedding, and when we walked up the stairs into Anodyne everything was set up the way we imagined it. No, better than we imagined! They went above and beyond, and we would highly recommend Anodyne if you're getting married in Milwaukee!“

“I now come here almost daily. They have the best espresso in Milwaukee and I drink their Americano black. I changed it up today and got a pumpkin spice latte, and it came out SO PRETTY!

Lake Effect is separate from the church but they do partner with others in the community including a Macha pop up, and they even allowed me to do a little pop up to celebrate AAC awareness month!

“Wednesday thru Saturday they offer the best rotisserie chickens in Milwaukee. For only $10 you get a juicy chicken and a side order such as fries, rice, or plantains. The food is made fresh as the orders are placed. The place is clean, everybody is friendly, the prices are reasonable, and my food was made quickly. I can't complain, except for the fact that they aren't open on Sundays. However, Monday thru Saturday, they are open from 8:30am to 5pm, and they deliver thru Door dash and Uber Eats. I definitely recommend!“
