The 2 working were very friendly and helpful. The store was clean and upkept. Just super impressed with my experience and I will be back anytime I am on that side of town.”

“Food is always good here- usually get the chicken tenders. Son loves the concrete mixer with heath and caramel. We were there the other day and ordered a root beer float- it tasted strange so I brought them back up, explained the taste, they checked and realized the syrup was empty- they apologized and remade the drinks for us.”

“Places That Felt Like Home Some places in this world hold you not because of their walls, their menus, or their decor, but because of the way they welcome you. For me, two of those places were Just Brew It in Union Grove, Wisconsin, and the North Star Bar in Rochester, Minnesota. At Just Brew It, after only a couple of visits, the staff began greeting me by name every time I walked through the door. It reminded me of Norm from Cheers—that easy ritual of belonging where the world pauses to say, you matter here. The drinks were good, the people were kind, but it was that simple recognition, that moment of being known, that made the coffee shop feel like family. The North Star Bar carried the same magic in its own way. Whenever I walked in, they’d call out, “Georgia,” not just as a nickname but as a nod to where I came from. It was playful, affectionate, and grounding. No matter how far I was from home, I carried a piece of it in the way they saw me. Both places remind me that what makes a space sacred isn’t the bricks or beams—it’s the people who look at you, smile, and say, you belong.”

“I’ve worked here over 3 years. I love this bar, I love the customers, my bosses are great. We have live music or karaoke every single weekend. Our kitchen is open until 9 PM Sunday through Thursday and 10 PM Friday and Saturday. The fryers are on until 2 AM seven days a week. Friday and Saturday we offer giant slices of homemade pizza for $5 slice until they’re gone. We are fully handicap accessible, two ramps for indoor and back deck access. We have a large selection of canned and bottled beers, huge selection of hard liquor, seltzer, iced teas, etc.. We have RC products on the gun, but also offer Coke and Pepsi products in the can. We can pretty much customize any menu item within reason. Our kitchen staff is incredible. I tell people we are a bar with restaurant quality food. We do have a large dining room that is kid friendly. Definitely bring your appetite, our portions are large, but absolutely delicious.”

The energy, creativity, and uninterrupted space to be authentic without judgment. We enjoyed listening to several talented young artists freely perform and enjoy their music. We were so lucky to be part of the audience tonight. The owner, Alex, is one in a million—such a zen space. We enjoyed our coffee and tea and appreciated the love that went into it.
