“The Captain is easily one of the best Italian beef sandwiches I’ve ever had, and it’s coming off a bar menu, which makes it even more impressive. The beef is tender and packed with flavor. The garlic bread its served on adds the perfect toasted crunch on the outside while still soaking up just enough au jus to keep every bite rich and satisfying. It’s honestly comparable to anything you’d find in Chicago or Milwaukee, yet it’s right here in Prentice. If you’re ordering it, get it loaded. The peppers, mozzarella and giardiniera take it to another level and give it that authentic, big-city sandwich shop feel. And let’s be real, being able to grab a sandwich this good for under $10 these days is almost unheard of. Big flavor, great value, and right here in our own town. Highly recommend.“

“I spent so many wonderful hours in Fusak's tavern while living in the Phillips area. Florence would make coffee and pull out some of her wonderful bakery and we would chat away!! We loved the Smear games every week during the winter and seeing the neighbors there. Grandpa Ed and I would stop every time we went to town to shop. The hunting season at Fusak's Tavern was so much fun....so many fond memories. Thanks for sharing the lovely photos. It is great to view Florence in them .....she was the hub and we all love her.“

“We enjoyed experiencing the tavern and seeing Fred Smith’s photos and articles. It has a neat story and different artistic displays that explain Fred Smith as an artist and music lover. He often played his fiddle and mandolin while jingling sleigh bells that were tied to his knees.Look above the bar to see his watercolor portrait that has hung watching over the tavern for decades.We recommend stopping in, having a Fred Smith Lager, and checking the place out. And, if you’re looking for somewhere unique to stay, the upstairs has been renovated into an Airbnb. Guests can stay and also rent the Rock Garden Tavern for an event.“
