“First time trying it today. First, the gentleman working was extremely kind and made sure to double check everything on my order was correct before and after the food was prepared. The torta with steak was phenomenal. The jalapenos in there were spot on and the thing weighed 8 lb! Tried the quesabirra tacos which did not disappoint. It came with 3. The rice and beans are packed with flavor and you get a hefty serving of each with a dinner. You get a choice of salsa red or verde. Red's got a kick but it seems more of a hot sauce than salsa I would say. They had jarritos sodas which is always a plus. And the most excellent part about it, is their tamales. I have been eating tamales my whole life and this was, in fact, the best one I have ever eaten. If you don't like spicy I wouldn't recommend, because they have a heat kick to be sure. Absolutely delicious. Ample parking room in front or behind truck. So much food with the dinners that they can be split into two meals. So happy I stopped.“

“I was first introduced to Layman Brewing on a quiet Sunday afternoon and have since made it my go to spot. If we are going to meet for dinner or brunch, chances are good I’m dragging you to Layman’s. I appreciate the skill and work these two put into brewing great beer and making yummy food. The fishfry with that tartar sauce is the best. Smash burgers for breakfast yes please! The bartenders are always crafting some delicious cocktails, and I mean crafting. If you’re still on the fence once Sarah comes around and entices you with her apple pie, you’ll be hooked! Go enjoy something delicious and soak up the friendly vibe for this little homegrown establishment.“

I had #16! The white rice and beans, with the chicharrones, a thinly cut steak, a sausage chorizo, salad, plantains, and a taste of the yuca frita. OH MY OH MY OH MY!!! My hope really is that this place makes it for years to come and expands to other parts of the city! The design of the place has a vibe that invites you in to stay awhile. To enjoy the flavors of the food entries offered. Each one I have to imagine just as good as what I had. This being my first time there I left with a happy heart and a happy tummy! Between the three of us we had the queso fundido with chorizo, tostadas, chimichanga and a torta. Everything was delicious, one of the best tortas I've ever had. Inside was cute and clean. “This place is fantastic! We came here with a larger group for Sunday brunch. The commutation when it came to setting up the reservation was great. We were welcomed in and were able to immediately start ordering drinks. The bartenders were awesome the whole time we were there (we stayed there for about 4 hours). You go up to a window to order food and are given a pager. This worked out great because everyone could eat whatever they wanted to. The food was delicious!!! All of it!! They also had vending machines with fun stuff in them and pull tabs so that kept everyone busy for a while. I’d definitely return and can’t wait to try more off the menu! “Great vibes, food, drinks and service. Cloud Red without a doubt is the best bar & restaurant in Shorewood and the North Shore. It’s generally pretty busy most nights. You have to order food at the bar, but it’s worth the wait. Delicious food, shareable apps, covered cozy back patio with fire pits and blankets, and front patio outside weather permitting. Lots of local Beer and kombucha on tap, plus well crafted cocktails.“
