“My friend, Margaret, introduced me to Hillside. Great place to meet and catch up with friends and family. We went for the delicious, specialty coffee, but were more than tempted to see the yummy pastries available. They also have homemade breakfast sandwiches for sale. Staff has always been more than accommodating whether they're at the counter or as Barista. Also, look forward to their Cinnamon Rolls available only on Sundays. Rose, the owner, and former baker, has hit a home run with this place. She's sweet as a peach and her shop is very warm and welcoming. You'll find beautiful, hand crafted and delicate pastries to go with your fabulous coffee. Love this place and hope it's part of Oak Creek for a long time to come.“

“You can tell that as much thought and care went into crafting the ambiance and space as there was in crafting the coffee. I've never been in a coffee shop as warm, inviting and cozy as this. Immediately upon entering there is a wheelchair lift to make the space accessible for everyone. The scent from the wood burning fire and various coffees is absolutely heavenly. This is someplace you'd like to settle into for the morning. If you're just passing through and loved their coffee, you can get it shipped to your house from their website at a very reasonable price.“

“I tried 2 tasty warm items today a feta and spinach pastry and a chicken croquette. I would say these are some of the tastiest things I have tried in a long time. Flaky pastry with a buttery taste and a croquette with the chicken that was so flavorful! What a lovely place. They also offered other warm items, pastries and a lovely seating area and free internet. I will come again. Perfect for coffee, small groups, families or to do work on the computer.“

“Visiting from England there was only one brewery tour that we were definitely doing and it was the PBR one! The tour is really interesting, our guide at 12 on Friday the 16th of May (sorry I forgot your name) was awesome, was a knowledgeable machine when it came to PBR. Wonderful stories and plenty of beer, Jim the owner was a great guy too, not as great as his wife who managed to get the football (soccer) on tv so I could watch Aston Villa ✅ Absolutely awesome place, plenty of cool merch in the shop too.“

“Stopped in one weekday morning for a hot beverage and some bakery. It's part of a larger building with large windows on the front. There are a couple of basic small café tables out front. Inside is a large space that is brightly lit through the plate glass windows. There are tables set up throughout, mainly for couples, but they could be combined for larger groups. There are also stools at the counter for seating.

There wasn’t anyone else in the place when I arrived, so it was very quiet. Got greeted by the friendly cashier/barista. I wanted to get a London Fog Tea Latte, but they were out of Earl Grey, so I ordered a Chai Latte instead. They didn’t have a scone, but the cinnamon roll with icing looked pretty good too. Offered to warm it up, and I said definitely yes.

It took a few minutes for the drink to be ready, which means they let the tea steep properly. When it got delivered to my table, I was pleasantly surprised by the latte art in the foam. I have never had a barista give me that special treatment and was thankful. The cinnamon roll was warm, gooey, and delicious.

Definitely a place that I would return to.“

“Anodyne ended up being the perfect wedding venue for us. The rustic meets modern downtown coffee shop vibes were just what we were looking for. Let me tell you, this place is nice during the day, but at night this place comes alive with the string lights, moody mirrors, and classic radio wall. My husband and I took moments throughout the night to just around and admire the dreaminess of the venue. We received so many compliments about the bartenders and the venue coordinator Erica. The bartenders were super friendly and fast, and one of them even told us at the end of the night how much fun they had too! Erica was AMAZING to work with throughout the year and a half of planning. From the very first email to the last goodbye at the end of the wedding, she was the reason that everything ran so smoothly. We had multiple meetings with her leading up to the wedding, and she was helpful and accommodating every time. She told us that her goal was for us to enjoy our day and not sweat the small things, and that's exactly what she did! We held the ceremony and the reception there, and the transition after the ceremony was seamless and took less than ten minutes. Erica and her staff also set up all of our decor. We left the decor with her the day before the wedding, and when we walked up the stairs into Anodyne everything was set up the way we imagined it. No, better than we imagined! They went above and beyond, and we would highly recommend Anodyne if you're getting married in Milwaukee!“

Ordering was easy, communication was open & our order was beyond perfect. We ordered the biggest breakfast charcuterie board which was a huge hit with all the varieties of baked goods, & fun layout. The variety of mini quiches were delicious & the perfect portion sizes for a buffet style brunch. Also easy to serve. Cheesy potatoes & the French toast bake were so good I wish I ordered more for leftovers. Not a crumb was left behind. We will absolutely be going to & catering with Green Baked Goods again. 10/10 recommend this family owned business. “This is a secret gem located downtown Milwaukee in what I call the Quarles and Brady building because their name is on top. But I am sure that’s not the name of this office building. However, Davian’s 411 has delicious food, friendly and fast service and affordable prices. The building also has a convenience store and gourmet popcorn shop with awesome, kind owners that run them. Each of these 3 businesses treat me really good and I appreciate them. Plus, the security desk has a great staff as well.“

The goat cheese appetizer was a bit shocking -- very strong cheese with a concentrated tomato jam, but it you ate in spread over the bread it was enjoyable. The dumplings in the chicken and dumpling soup were injected with some strong weird flavor I could not place; they were not good. However the soup itself was delicious. The chocolate dessert came covered in salted caramel crumbs and pistachio ice cream. If you ate the dessert together it was interesting, but the chocolate base was the star of the show. And the cocktails... All the flavors were strong; most of them were good.“

“I now come here almost daily. They have the best espresso in Milwaukee and I drink their Americano black. I changed it up today and got a pumpkin spice latte, and it came out SO PRETTY!

Lake Effect is separate from the church but they do partner with others in the community including a Macha pop up, and they even allowed me to do a little pop up to celebrate AAC awareness month!

I can't forget to mention their awesome bakery, with some muffins and cookies baked in house and their tasty treats from City Market and Carries Crispies!“

“My child and I ate/drank here after a seeing the The Posters of Jules Chéret exhibit. We were so impressed with the courtesy of all staff, the quality and care that went into the food and my latte was so delish I had to get a second one.A little context: it was summer on a weekday and we are inside though it was a beautiful day outside. It was busy but not crowded - we waited maybe 3/4 minutes to order. We were having a great day and engrossed in good conversation. That said the quality of product and service complimented our spirits.“
