“I’m kind of on the fence for this place. Amazing deserts, but never had tried their actual food they serve there. I’m not a fan of how you have to order off of a tablet instead of getting a waitress to take your order. I say that because most elder people don’t know how to use modern technology and I see more elder folks in there anytime I drive by or go in. Prices aren’t so bad there but the customer service sucks! Was not please with the “I don’t wanna be here” attitude from the employees working at the counter“

“There was a review posted a couple days ago making all kinds of accusations about 5&J not being kid-friendly and the manager not being friendly toward children. As a doting grandfather who for the past 5 years regularly brings his 6 year-old grandchild to 5&J, let me assure folks that the manager and staff at 5&J are wonderful with kids. The manager even keeps a special brand of 'sprinkles' on hand for my granddaughter's favorite hot cocoa.
Because of the quality of food, service and atmosphere at 5&J, things can get pretty hectic during rush hour. Throughout it all the staff works hard and is responsive. I've often said to them I really don't know how they do it and that if I were working there I'd be sitting in a corner crying!
Now one thing for parents and grandparents to keep in mind, it is in an older home (1910) with crowded areas and staff are often carrying plates of food and mugs of hot coffee through what can be a very busy setting and kids running about could cause staff or customers to trip and drop hot food on others. As in all public settings, it is the responsibility of caregivers to monitor and -- when needed -- rein in some of that bubbling child energy and mayhem. Ultimately, that is who is responsible.
Don't hesitate to take you kids to 5&J. The hot cocoa, sprinkles and staff are wonderful.“

“The food here is absolutely incredible—some of the best burgers I've had! We will definitely be returning specifically for the dining experience. However, I felt it was important to share a note for other families with young children: please keep your kids out of the on-site sandbox. I personally witnessed cats using it as a litter box, which is a major health concern. We love the restaurant for its food and will be back, but I strongly suggest skipping the play area.“
