“The guys cooking really know what they are doing fun to watch! Cooking behind the bar is a great concept, smash burgers are the best along with their homemade potato chips and the broccoli slaw! Other bar and grills who need a lesson on how to cook properly with creativeness go there to get a lesson!!!! Not a joke!!“
“I stopped here and I did a U turn to go back to check them out because I'm not in the area that often and I felt like I would be missing something. The place very old looking on the inside with a small bar and gambling machines. The bartender was nice and talkative with the customers all 3 of us. The front sign is a leftover of a time past and they don't have food but they have frozen Brew Pub pizza. The walls and fixtures look old and I was told that it's been a Bar since 1901. They have a cool back lit bar on the wall and a super old looking door with a crest on it. The two regulars were friendly and talked to me. They also have a small patio by the front door for nice days.“
“Decided to give this establishment a try after a previous reviewers recommendation. Thoroughly enjoyed an OUTSTANDING Bloodymary that was loaded with an impressive selection of tasty garnishes. The bar patrons were super friendly as were the bartenders. I highly recommend this great neighborhood establishment.“
“We had four adults and two children in our group. Both kids have food allergies, but one of them has complicated allergies. No eggs, dairy, nuts, pork, turkey etc etc. Our waitresses name was Kristina and she was unbelievable. She kept going back to the kitchen to question the chef about food ingredients and preparation without making it seem like an inconvenience. Her overall attentiveness to customer service was impressive. We did have a little hiccup in preparation of one of the orders but it was remedied quickly and satisfactorily. The food was delicious and well worth the price. Nicely varied menu selection. This was our first visit but won't be our last. Only downfall was knowing the place was located there without being told. We drive by a couple of times a week and never even knew it was there! Glad we do know now!! The Amber Breaded Cod and Seafood Platter were both spectacular along with all the other food we ordered.Kid-friendliness: We felt it was definitely kid friendly. We took a 7 and 12 year old with us!“
“I’ve heard they have a reputation for good burgers, so the kiddo and I drove an hour to check them out. Well, we can confirm the burgers were fantastic as was the server/service! The fries and cheese balls were excellent too! Make sure to try the jalapeño ketchup, it’s outstanding and also available for purchase! We will be back!“
“Love this place . It’s been my bar since 2008 . Love the bartenders . Especially Kristi. They will always remember your name. Reminds me of cheers. Where everybody knows your name . I’ve always loved their machines . First place I think they won $1500. Kept going back since then.“
“I have been to Backstreet quite a bit over the last 40 years I lived in Waukesha. Always pretty steady with good drinks, food and service. Their Friday fish options really cannot be matched in the area with both baked and fried and I've never had one I didn't like. I had to give a review as last Friday night we went with friends and for some reason, there was a mix up and the other 5 at the table got their food and mine didn't come. It was noticed right away and immediately I had one of the owners come and apologize and even offer me soup while I waited. It did take a little bit but what made it right for me was that she checked in yet again and our server came over as well and owned the fact that he had made a mistake. What impressed me was the fact that it was important to them to make it right. In a world where so many could care less, make excuses or just plain not acknowledge, I appreciate those who will just look you in the eye, speak the truth and apologize. It was a busy night, waiters were hopping and I appreciate what they do when I know they are putting all they have into it. I felt like I had the best dinner... No corners cut, hot and made to perfection!“
“This was the new restaurant of the week and a long time bookmark so I stopped over for lunch. I couldn't find it the first time because the spot was a three flag flying American Legion post so I used google maps to take me there and I ended up at the same intersection so I parked and I looked around and, dang it's in the A /L post right on the sign in front. The place is in the basement and it's classic WI dive bar at its finest with a small bar and some hi tables. It's bar service I was told so I ordered a spicy Bloody Mary spicy and the cheesesteak sandwich with upgraded onion rings for $2 extra. The Bloody Mary was super average with absolutely no depth of flavor at all that was garnished with a couple good firm olives, 2 meat slices and a cheddar cheese cube which was decent. The cheesesteak looked pretty good and smelled amazing with lettuce, tomato and mayo which is not the norm from most places and it was fu#king delicious that way, if I can remember I'm going to ask for future cheesesteaks from other place to add lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. The grilled peppers and onions with the thin sliced beef topped with melted cheese on the fresh hoagie bun was perfect for my cheesesteak craving. On the other hand the up charge onion rings were beer battered and thin, very average bar food and I thought that the seasoned potatoes/frys that came with the sandwich would have been a better option for this sandwich. Overall I had a good lunch at a reasonable price with a cocktail/chaser sandwich and side for $20.95 that completely satisfied me, the 1st timer on my receipt was noted for the kitchen ? like what is that and don't F this order up ? I don't know.“
“Clearly a hot spot in Menomonee Falls, their fish fry didn't disappoint. It tasted "different", actually. It felt innovative. Moreover , they have more options for fish fry than the usual ones on at any restaurant on a Friday night. Our server was great. He was attentive and personable. It's a fun place, so it's loud and noisy...don't expect a romantic ambience. I'm looking forward to going back for trivia night!“
“Met our kids here for lunch around 2:30 on a Sunday, not too busy. We were greeted and seated immediately. Server had our drinks out super quick. We had the cheese curds for an appetizer…no pic cuz we were starving and they were phenomenal!! Hubby had the brat, ate every bite so obviously it was good! Daughter-in-law had the Buffalo chicken wrap, she enjoyed hers! Son had the Ribeye steak, he too ate every last bit and said it was in his top 5 of best Ribeyes, his wife ate the baked potato, also delicious (only negative, as it was a bit pricey $21.99, it was supposed to come with a soup or salad & we had ordered the potato soup that never came. We did not remind our server or complain, just a tad disappointed as would have loved to try their soup!) I had the California burger 1/3# cheeseburger with, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, raw onion and avocado. It was good, the avocado was like a store bought guacamole and a tad bitter, but not bad. I would have preferred avocado like the menu said, but didn’t complain and ate it anyway. Overall food was great, server was friendly and food came out quick! We will be back!“
“My food was not perfect but it was perfectly prepared my beer was not great but it was drinkable my shot of crown must have had a leak but it was good next time a2x hog shot or 4 will do noteI did have my liquor before my beer and felt great“
“I wanted to acknowledge the lovely bartender working this past Saturday afternoon-7pm shift. She was FANTASTIC!! Kind, polite and swamped when a party of 8 swelled to 30+ in addition to the 10-12 of us already there. She successfully and professionally cared for all of us! WELL DONE!!“
“Great local bar. Feels very comfortable. The bartender that works on Tuesday nights is a smoking hot fox.... I would drag my manhood through five miles of broken glass if that meant that I could be served by her every night! Oh and they have a pool table.“
“Granted we walked in at 1:30 AM on Christmas, the place was well kept, and both service and drinks were fantastic. They have a great tap selection, of which I had a Cranberry Razz cider from Cider Boys. Might be back next Christmas!Parking: Plenty of parking in the back!“
“Best bartender! She always remembers what you order, even if you haven't been there for a couple months. She even tries to remember your name, and is often successful! Personable staff and a clean bar. Their happy hour is great, $4 for any draft beer with a star until 5pm, and that includes some craft beer! No complaints about the food, but it is typical fried bar food.“
“My husband ordered a ham and cheese omelette. When it came it had onions and green peppers in it, he hates onions. So our server was kind enough to get him a different one without onions and green peppers. His name was Andrew S. And when we received our bill he even gave us $5 off for what had happened. So very nice and accommodating. Good job Andrew S.“
“If your looking for that old school feel to a bar this is it. Very relaxing atmosphere the food is actually really good. If you stop in the Pizza is definitely worth trying. Lowell lake state park is just down the road if your looking for a great hike in nature before a stop in. While there you may learn alot about the history of the bar and the area.“
“One of the best bars in the Menominee Falls area yes there is a more updated bar across the street (not saying any names) but at least the service here is great. Always a good crowd small place but friendly vibe. Come down check it out for yourself :)“
“First time here. Fun place for families. My husband ordered full order of nachos ,I ordered half. Didn’t realize how much you get we could have shared large order.soft drinks were expensive 3.00 so we got water.I got mine without the jalapeno,my husband got them he said they were good, fresh and spicy. They give you a tiny cup of salsa and a small cup sour cream.needed more sour cream. The mini bowling is 30.00 a hour for up to 6 people.you have to wait on someone to reset the pins,so that eats into your time, but still fun for kids cause they’re little balls. They have an arcade area also with games so if you have kids plan on spending some money. We didn’t get the big pretzel but saw it , it was huge, looked good.“
