“I've been wanting to come here for years and finally tried them. I waited too long to come here. We had the Captains Catch which is perch, jumbo shrimp, and choice of haddock or cod. Their perch isn't boney like most places are. Their clam chowder is the best in the area. Their haddock had good texture and flavor as well. It's a big place and parking is plentiful. Can't wait to come back here!”

“It's often hard to find a good latte in and around the small towns of Wisconsin but you can find it at The Open Door. The service is always welcoming and prompt. plenty of space if you decide to have your beverage in house or take a stroll by the water nearby. Food is available, pastries and other snacks as well. Bulk coffee can be purchased too. Hot or Iced grab that coffee at the Open Door next time you are in Mayville!”

“4 of us came from Madison to experience the Friday Fish Fry. We each got the Fisherman's platter. The amount of food that you got was enough to share with another person! The best sides were the potatoe pancakes and the German potatoe salad. Very good old fashioned! Service was fast and friendly. Definitely going back!”

“The bartender Tommy was average at being great. Kidding. He knew what the kids wanted and had kiddie cocktails all lined up for them, including extra cherries for my daughter. The food was fantastic ( order small for yourself if you have little kids cause you will have leftovers). If there's room for sweets and desserts, try the apple cinnamon wonton wraps. You won't be disappointed by anything on the menu. And if you don't get there in the cold season for their chili, be sure to get there during late summer for the cheesy kohlrabi soup. “Was my first time stopping here, I missed the ladies name but she was the sweetest. Had my FAVORITE: iced white chocolate mocha with almond milk. Lots of options to choose from. Reasonable price. I recommend stopping in for your morning cup of joe!!!”

“This place is what to be expected when your looking for a good spot to warm up on a cold day. Soup came with the meal. Chili was extra. We went with the soup, cream of chicken and chicken and dumplings, which were great.Polish sausage and kraut was good, German potato salad was excellent! Ill go back just for that. The employees on that day handled the issue well, and Alyssa was fantastic. She went out of her way via phone calls over the next couple of days to take care of a small amount of tax that we needed to get right for our school district. Everybody involved was great to work with!”

“We stopped by on a late afternoon and had a few local beers. Sue was wonderful and we enjoyed getting to know her. We also purchased some fresh baked bread from her, took it home and ate it with coffee in the morning. We are from San Diego visiting we will be back again.”
