“Ordered for my daughters end of year softball party. Everyone absolutely loved all of it!! We ordered chicken, barbacoa, and steak tacos with tamales. My husband, who LOVES tamales, asked why we didn't order more for just us and the girls and their siblings gobbled all of the tacos up. Every parent asked for contact information. Highly recommend. Hoping to order more in December!!“
“Very nice place, small and family operated. Best Chalupas and Gorditas I've had in a while! been here several times, great Michilada's! small outside seating area and the inside is as well. about 10 tables inside, with a Bar to sit at and maybe 5 outside with sun umbrellas. (for warmer weather.) when it gets busy it can be kinda crowded but the family of about 8 do a great job keeping up! a must go to if you're in the mood for some great Mexican food! Pick your time right and avoid the crowd (unless you're into that kinda thing...) for great food, great, service and a Great atmosphere with delicious drinks! I've had the Chalupas Amazing, Gorditas Excellent, Margaritas Tangy and sweet, ChimiChanga dinner Awesome, try the fresh homemade Salsa And Guacamole! I usually go alone and have a beer before and with dinner, and a drink after dinner and it's usually around $25 to $35 + tipParking: they have an upper and lower parking lot. I've never had a parking issue.“
“Its definitely a cool looking place during more warmer weather. Food was good, except the combo basket appetizer.....lol it just seemed like everything was thrown in a air fryer. ? Definitely can't wait til the weather warms up more to go back. ??“
“5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Stopped inCarlos Mexican Grill in fox lake today to grab a late lunch on my way back home. Fox Lake across from Thortons in the strip mall.Service was outstanding! I’ve heard complaints at other locations, not Fox Lake. Very helpful and patient.Restaurant was very clean. The empty tables were all ready for customers to come in to eat.Decent amount of parking for the strip mall.Menu is laid out nicely. Good variety. Prices are competitive depending on what you get. I didn’t notice anything extremely expensive or inexpensive. I think maybe their fajitas are priced lower than other restaurants in the area. I usually prefer to stay to eat fajitas so maybe next time.Food was not only delicious BUT FILLING! Omgshhhh… I ate half and had to take a nap to sleep ? off my full tummy! Not complaining because the other half was dinner. — eating lunch at Carlos Mexican Grill in fox lake.“
“I was really loving the food here but its a little expensive. I was plan on returning often until I seen my bill and was charged $2.00 for a glass of water. It was not a bottle of water just tap water. It was a small glass of water and I have never paid so much for a glass of water to go with my order. So much for the yummy food!“
“Called to place an order but they didn’t answer. I was just going to wait a few minutes thinking they were just busy and they actually called me back within 1 minute! I’ve never had customer service that good. We love their food and order from here all the time. Highly recommend!“
“First time here! Great food, I ordered 2 tamales thinking they’d be tiny and they are huge. Love that lol. Great service too, my party of 3 never had to ask for anything ourselves, our server was great. His 13 year old brother was also serving/hosting and is doing great! Better customer service than most restaurants in the area. 5 stars, will definitely be back again.“
“Amazing. The food is authentic; the meat not laced with a stupid amount of gristle. The spices are insanely good - you can TASTE the marinade they take the time to do.My friends and I ate there and it's pretty clear they do not have many dine-in customers. But we were tended to perfectly.An aside, a person in an electric wheel chair showed up and asked for a burrito in exchange for her name and phone number and a promise to pay. They didn't hesitate. My group and people from the kitchen came out offering to lift them into the restaurant . They declined but the kitchen made her her burrito.Perfect food. Perfect addition to a productive and caring society. They don't seem to get many dine-in customers but the experience was fantastic.I cannot recommend this place enough. A+, 10/10. Delicious food, sympathetic workers.“
“Always a delicious spot for lunch and dinner. Daily specials posted on the white board inside. Tacos never disappoint! I always get 2 tacos and some rice with a horchata. Dine in available but beware parking a little weird outside and if you're unfamiliar with unloading wheelchairs in a slight slant I would park in the side or exterior of the building of at all possible. Parking is limited and easier to pull into going north bound on rt 12. South bound you sit in the meridian until traffic dispurses. There are also signs posted for not parking at the local deli next door, just avoid the south end of the building actually.“
“The best taco bell in Lake County has never messed up my order . They make the best food because it's always fresh . For a great price and they always got the best slushy . Sorry I like my food hot not cold and they beating the rest the competition .“
“This was my first time here and I was very impressed. Very good food and very friendly staff. We want late on a Thursday so we have no idea how the view is but given how good the food was I don't know it would have mattered. We got fresh quac which was amazing and shrimp fajitas. Chips were fresh and warm and portions were large. This was one of my favorite Mexican restaurants thus far.“
“Food was great, service was a little slow because they were getting slammed on take out as the phone kept ringing the whole time we were there. The atmosphere was good to begin with, but some guys walked in, sat around the corner from us and proceeded to drop F bombs and other colorful descriptive words. My daughter said I don't even swear that much when working at home in the yard IN PRIVATE. They got some alcoholic beverages and that for them going even more... so is it the establishments fault, no BUT remind the customers they need to respect the people with kids around them as this wasn't some biker bar in TJ.“
