We were looking for a good Friday fish fry in the Oshkosh area and Wendt's did not disappoint! No wonder the wait was about an hour: this was one of the best fish fries we have had. Lightly battered cod pieces were perfectly fried. Waffle fries and sweet potato fries were great, and you can't beat pint-glass old fashioneds for only six bucks! Definitely worth the visit even if you need to go out of your way to get there!
We stopped at Wendt's mid afternoon on a Sunday. There were a lot of people at the bar, but no one in the dining room. We had a table with a wonderful view of the lake. The service was great. The food was delicious. The fish sandwich had two big pieces of perch on it. I had my favorite - ale shrimp and perch dinner. It was so good. I want to go back real soon.
