“I recently worked a wedding at Harbor Brewing for an outside caterer and was very impressed with the staff (great bartenders!), facilities, and ambiance. The happy couple and their guests all seemed to have had a wonderful evening and throughly enjoyed the selection of drinks offered by the venue. In talking with the attendees (and from clearing their empty glasses) it was clear they found the quality of that selection far exceeded the run of the mill menu available elsewhere. Moreover, the bartenders did an great job keeping the lines short, the beverages fresh, and although I unfortunately wasn’t able to banter with them myself every guest walked away from their interactions with a smile on their face. The area in which the event took place was both spacious and beautifully decorated/styled. The brewery’s aesthetic is tasteful and the layout allowed for plenty of room for the crowd to dance and mingle. Personally I thought the wall of whiskey barrels was a brilliant addition - wether it was simply meant as storage or a design element chosen specifically for the look it really brought the room together. This may seem like a weird feature to bring up but having worked tons of weddings at dozens of venues over the years I always take note of the restroom accommodations in an event space because as a party progresses underperforming in this arena can create a ton of problems. Here the bathrooms not only fit the theme (extra points for the keg urinals!) but were kept clean and easily accommodated the parties needs. Finally, the venue is located in Lake Villa’s downtown area somewhat near the train station with plenty of parking for guests available on site as well as near by on Cedar street. Finding the building was no trouble at all and leaving when the event was over was hassle free. Altogether Harbor Brewing is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a space to host an event; a beautiful venue with some wonderful staff pouring outstanding beer will make for a night you and your friends won’t soon forget.”

“All around, a nice place, people, and staff. The hostess was very friendly. The waitress Mary was very attentive, always making sure everything was ok. The reason for coming there was for Friday AYCE fish fry for $14.95. It was very good. Ordered fried and baked cod. Both were very good, but my preference is always baked. I will definitely be back to try other food selections. They have a big food menu. And specials threw out the week. Be warned that parking can be hard to find.”

“First time trying this place and omg….will not be our last. We got the jerk chicken rice bowl with the side of mac n cheese. The chicken had amazing flavor and literally fell off the bone when you picked it up. The Mac n cheese was to die for. The owner was so kind. I told her my sister is vegan and she ran back and sent me with a sample of the chickpea curry for her to try….so thoughtful. We absolutely would recommend trying this place. So much better and different than majority of the restaurants in Antioch!”

“I stopped in today by chance, I was hungry and have passed this place several times over the years. This place was amazing. I had a cheeseburger which was delicious. My girlfriend had the Nashville chicken Flatbread which was also delicious. We also had the wonton cheese sticks, they were awesome. Our waitress Makayla was great, very friendly and had great knowledge of the menu items. The bar tender Emily also greeted us and asked how the drinks were. Great place, very clean and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.”

“They make their waffle cones fresh everyday. Their ice creams are so good in quality, got to try blueberry waffle in a waffle cone and absolutely loved it. Price is also reasonable. They relocated from Main Street to a different location now and has plenty of parking.”

“Good selection of beers as well as some ciders and meads which gives everyone a chance to enjoy something. Food at the Round Lake Beach location is available at the Pizza place in the same plaza who will bring your food to you at the bar. Loved going on DJ Bingo nights, Jesse is the best!! She provides a great welcoming atmosphere and knows how to take care of you. All around great spot to go to.”

We stopped on a whim, as we were getting hungry and looking for somewhere to eat.When I say this place is good, I mean IT IS GOOD. I ordered the Cubby's Club and was not disappointed. This sandwich is what all other club sandwiches aspire to be. It was flavorful, a great portion, and the seasoned waffle fries were the perfect compliment.A small cafe with a friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and great coffee. I was blown away. “I've been going to Olando's for at least a decade now, and have yet to have a bad experience there. My most recent trip with my fiancee was no exception.The servers are friendly and helpful, the food is delivered quickly (even when they are busy), the portions are huge and the quality of the food is outstanding. While I've had their pizza before and really enjoyed it, I constantly find myself drawn to the "Bootie," an Italian beef sandwich topped with mozzarella cheese. It's got enough au jus in the sandwich to make it very flavorful (though next time I'll probably ask for some extra on the side, as I love sandwiches like this extra wet).My fiancee was impressed by the salad that came with her dinner, noting that it looked and tasted like it was made fresh to order. And she couldn't believe the serving size of her plate of lasagna. If there is a complaint - and I use that term very loosely - it's that there is so much good food served in the course of a meal that neither of us had room for dessert! Some day, I will sample the wares from Diana's Dream, the ice cream parlor that is part of Olando's... but for this particular visit, we left full and happy, and can't wait to visit again!July 2019”
