“We came in late one evening, sat at the bar & had a the best time. Our bartender Ebony was so sweet & her drinks were everything. The mushrooms & seasoned wings were fire, & my friend was raving about her strawberry salad.
This is the best option for food & a laid back night out in the area. I’ll definitely be back“

“This location has always been my favorite, food service, everything! However I was moved to leave a review due to them going the extra mile for me today! There was something that wasn’t available on the menu, and I called to verify and they confirmed though no longer on the menu I can order it and they’d make it. I said no worries and let them know we were doing Door Dash. The gentleman said to give him a moment, came back and took my information and said to order a certain item and he will make my specific request in its place! ALSO: Austin said the hype about the new wings was worth it.. he said and I quote “the best wings I’ve had in Wheeling in a while”“

“The food was fantastic. I'm not sure if it was slow to come out, or it was because I was so hungry when we got there.
I had a Hangover Burger with an over hard egg. All came cooked as I had asked. Also had the nachos and cheese sticks. The nachos had an unexpected kick to them, and the chicken was absolutely delicious. We found ourselves digging to get the last piece. The cheese sticks are very large. The first bite had enormous stretch quality to it. The breaded texture ok the outside gave a wonderful crunch. Like something you'd find at a county fair. There is a fair amount of space between the batter and the cheese, which I found to hold their sweet marina perfectly so I could skip the dipping altogether.
Our waitress visited our table at least 3 times to check in, we waited on refills for maybe 3 minutes, not horrible. The restaurant had a fair amount of diners, but not too busy.
The women's bathroom was clean, with 2 stalls. There was a changing table, and they provided bags to wrap diapers in before throwing them away. My boyfriend said he did not have the same experience in the men's room. The urinals were filled, went to the stall, and then found the toilet had seen battle that day.
Overall, we were seated quickly, we waited on food, but not so long it was uncomfortable. It wasn't too loud either. Our food was fantastic! Which is the most important part.
Vegetarian options: There was a veggie sandwich option, and 3 salads.
Kid-friendliness: There were many families dining around us with infants to teens with them.“

“Everything I’ve tried has been amazing! The quiche florentine is THE BEST. The kale caesar salad is delicious. The salty bread and chocolate chip cookies never disappoint. I could go on…just stellar.“

“First time eating here and it was delicious! I had the ham steak, side salad, and cottage cheese. Husband had the patty melt with fresh-cut fries and brown gravy. Fresh made burger on the patty melt, fries dipped in the gravy were spectacular. Dinner was great! We then ordered dessert, I got a slice of lemon pie and my husband got the Ho-Ho cake. Not disappointed at all. Great service and great food.“

“Drinks were great, The Mussels Diablo were delicious, the Seared Scallops with Asparagus and Risotta were amazing, and the Braised Lamb Shank just fell off the bone, so tender and delicious; and the Saffron Risotta was equally as delicious. Unfortunately we did not have room left for desserts...next time. Very nice atmosphere to enjoy each other's company.“

“We took my mom and grandmother to the Mother’s Day buffet and everything was so incredibly good! And such a large selection so anyone can find something to eat even the picky eaters! The decor and atmosphere was so pretty! Everything was planned out so well and it showed! Would recommend for any event! 10/10!“

“We just happened to be there on the day they had sausage gravy and biscuits and home fries as their daily special, oh my what a treat! It was delicious!!! Bought some deli products too the potato salad was delicious, we definitely will be back soon“

“I’ve been there a number of times, and it’s always solid. Their wings are cooked so well… juiciest freshest wings I’ve had. Tonight was Steak Night and you can’t beat $11 for a steak, potato, and salad. The staff are friendly and attentive. Food came out surprisingly fast. I don’t go here as often as I should!“

“a friend and and I stopped after dinner n a movie in our way home,, our waitress who was a young girl got nasty after we only ordered a beer. never stopped back to ask us if we needed anything else... what she did do was come back 45 minutes later and said " I need you to pay your bill because it's the end of my shift and if you need anything else you'll have to go to the bar and get it." mind you this is at 1000 at night and they still had people coming in,, I won't go back.“

“This place is number one for catering needs. Beautiful venue or they will deliver to your venue as well. They always have the nicest staff to work with in the Ohio valley. I have always had a pleasant experience here and will continue to choose Alexander's on 7th in the future. We had a Christmas party there this year and had a wonderful experience! I highly recommend them to any and all companies, businesses or even personal family events!“

“I took my family of four there after a friend recommended. Usually, when we go out to dinner at least one meal isn’t that good. I was amazed that everything was absolutely amazing. The steakhouse burger I ordered was hands down the best burger I’ve ever eaten. The poutine was great, the pretzel sticks with beer cheese was sublime. My wife and 17 year old daughter ordered chicken sandwiches and they raised the bar on chicken sandwiches. The salad was great. My younger daughter (picky eater) ordered a pizza from The 304 Wood Fired Pizza, it was the best pizza I’ve had in the Ohio Valley. In conclusion, this place is one of the best restaurants, if not the best restaurant in Wheeling. Definitely going to be a regular there. I’d have to give it a 15 out of 10 rating.“

“We are from out of town & saw the parking lot was busy but decided we’d try anyways! It was really really busy but Sara our waitress apologized - it looked like she was the only waitress. We assured her it’s ok & she was wonderful. It took a very long time to get our food but when Sara brought it - it was hot & delicious! We had no complaints at all! We also appreciated how nice Sara was in spite of her trying to service the entire place! She was wonderful“
“Sent my parents here for a special “date night” while they were in from out of town for a show at the Capitol. Made reservations in person and asked for it to be a special night. The restaurant and the waitress were AMAZING. They treated my parents like royalty and made their evening wonderful. Thank you and hats off to everyone at River City. ❤️❤️“

“We came into Wheeling for the Symphony and this place was in 5 minutes walking distance, and I’m so glad we came! The service was great, and we loved the meatloaf platter- the bacon gravy was to die for! Also get the apple crumble for dessert- so good! Great Appalachian comfort food, and the waitresses were so kind. Will be back!“

“We ate there tonight and the food was good. The over all thing for us though was the a service! My kids felt welcome and I felt welcome. It was by far the best service I've experienced. The waitress was so nice. She gave us time to eat and not over hover. She was there at the right times. I am just in wow over the kindness. “I recently started going to this place regularly. I am not a big sports or bar fan, but I do enjoy this place. The service has always been fantastic when I go. The food is always good. They also give you free popcorn, which is very unique and quirky. The only main issue that I have with it is that it can be too loud at times. They have a small arcade and there are always sports on the TV.
